Looking somewhat like a goiter on the neck of a a warthog, we bring you the Accord Crosstour. Actually, it looks more like Honda decided to combine all the amazing character traits of an Infiniti EX35, a VW Passat CC, and a BMW X6 into one completely lustless package. So lustless, it leaves us limp and lethargic. Forgive our lack of excitement as yet another crossover trundles into in these M. Balisky spy shots as unabashedly as a grown man wearing overalls … with nothing underneath. Alright, funny derogatory comments aside, the Crosstour is confirmed, so it will soon festoon your local outlet mall parking lots. So what the hell is it, anyhow?

Well, if the name didn’t give it away, the Crosstour is based on the Accord, giving it a liftback and a boost in ride height. We’d be lying if we said that we didn’t think this was aimed squarely at the Toyota Venza in the people-movers segment. That being said, the current Accord is huge, so expect this to be a portly number. But other than that, we have no details for you. Speculation? Sure. Look for the Accord’s engine lineup to be found under the hood, seating for five, and a host of annoying commercials. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

07/07/2009 -Torrance, CA – An all-new crossover vehicle based on the award-winning Honda Accord will go on-sale in the fall of 2009 as the “Accord Crosstour,” American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today.   1. I think it’s cute… not too beautiful, but cute. I’ve been a fan of Honda for a litte while. My second car was a Civic, 3rd was an Accord, and I now have another Civic. Would like to go back to an Accord. (I’m rambling) The people I know that drive Hondas will flock to try and buy this Accord Crosstour… Just because it’s cute. What’s the worst that could happen???

  2. I’ll tell you what could be the worse thing that would happen if you bought one of those. You’d be bored! You wouldn’t have any problems with the car, it would crank right up everytime for YEARS to come, the pick up would be more than adequate, you’d probably have the best resale value of any comparable models….. You would have to read posts of people bashing the looks of the car even though it doesn’t look bad.

    If you want styling first, reliability second, get something else.
