For those of you out there who dig on personal watercraft, well… have I got some news for you! Kawasaki has just launched the all new 300 horsepower 2011 Jet Ski Ultra 300X. I knew that the horsepower wars were raging full-on in the automobile industry but I had no idea that water sleds like this even made 200, let alone 300 hp. The Ultra 300X is powered by a supercharged 1498 cc inline-4 that produces a whopping 1,769 lbs. of thrust through its jet drive. Ladies and gentleman that’s like having a 900 hp blown HEMI under the hood of a Hyundai Accent, which is simply nuts!
So, why are we posting about a Jet Ski on what is primarily an automotive site. Well I’ll tell you – it’s got 300 hp, a 20 gallon fuel capacity, unparalleled control and electronics and a top speed of around 67 mph. By automobile standards that may not sound like much, but on the water 67 mph is flat-out bookin’, plus anything with face flattening stats like that definitely deserves a mention. The 2011 Jet Ski Ultra 300X will have a starting price of $14,499, sure it’s not cheap, but then again who ever said going fast was?
