2012 Chevrolet Sonic LTZ: RideLust Review
Not long ago we brought you a video of a Hennessey tuned Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon putting a beating on a Porsche 911 Turbo at the drag strip. However some viewers pointed out that the turbo was not a current model, and got all ticked off about it. Well now Hennessey is back, but this time they’ve squared off against Nissan’s all-wheel-drive super car, the GT-R. So, for those of you who still think that Cadillac’s still aren’t world class super cars, hit play and prepare to have your opinions changed.

Kudos to Hennessey for creating a 650hp stationwagon that can beat a stock GT-R by .1 sec in the 1/4 mile. There are also AMC Javelins, Ford Escorts, and Porsche 914-6s that can beat a stock GT-R in a drag race, what’s the point? .1 sec aint much, just about any car can be hot-rodded to smoke a car from the factory. Also, unless Hennessey has a 700+hp version for 2012, this race is moot with the 2012 GT-R’s 45 more hp. Honestly, I expect more from Hennessey; this kind of juvenile grandstanding is below them – they’re a better company than this.
The only thing that bugs me is that the Cadi is on drag radials. That is a big advantage. I know the AWD on the GT-R should mean it has plenty of traction. But, AWD is not really good for drag racing. RWD with sticky tires, on the other hand, is. On stock tires, the CTS-V has no chance.
Now, what car enthusiast would spend 80 000 dollars on a station wagon?
This is stupid… ooohhh one tenth of a second after hot rodding the hell out of it. Also, like the other guy pointed out this also isn’t a current model of the GT-R. This is dumb marketing on their part. Lets make it more interesting by actually racing on a track.
So, the American Answer to international competition is drag racing?
How about a Nice Slalom? Oh wait, there were groceries in the back and now the Cadillac is going to stink of milkā¦
I don’t think you all understand so let me put this as simply as I can,
American station wagon>Foreign Super car.
Haters are gonna hate
