2012 Chevrolet Sonic LTZ: RideLust Review
Well it’s finally happened, a big ole’ MOPAR has finally taken the Hemmings Muscle Machines – Muscle Machine of the Year Award. The car in question – a matte black 1969 Dodge Charger SE that was built into a Daytona replica for the sole purpose of driving when one needs to get some aggression out. Obviously the car is not to everyone’s taste, and truth be told it doesn’t need to be as that was not its intended purpose. The 1969 Dodge Daytona was made for one reason and one reason only, to go fast. They were homologation cars that were produced so the cars could run flat out in race trim for NASCAR. This particular car was built and tuned for long distance open road runs and track duty and utilizes such updates as suspension, brakes, 5-speed transmission, custom wheels and chassis modifications. Sure at the end of the day it still weighs 4200 lbs and is 20-feet long, but with over 500 hp and looks that would scare Satan, this big black road hammer has the ability to put a little fright into some unsuspecting sports cars.
