It really is like a joke at this point. Sony and Polyphony Digital have just issued a statement letting us know that their long awaited racing simulation game, Gran Turismo 5 has been delayed yet again. Fans of the game have been waiting for… wait for it… 4 YEARS! With all the hype that’s been built up around this game over the last 48 months you’d think that Polyphony Digital was trying to cure cancer, not put out a video game. I was a huge fan of the Gran Turismo series, but at this point I WILL NOT be purchasing the game simply because the developer has been jacking us around for such along time. A statement issued by Sony reads:
“We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.
We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.
We’ll have more information for you in the near future.”
My hope is that everyone tells Sony and Polyphony Digital to go scratch. Maybe if the consumers do that these guys will finally get the message.
