Going To Be On ‘Top Gear’? Gran Turismo 5 Will Help You Practice

I’ll admit it: my biggest fear is doing a cameo on “Top Gear” as a star in a reasonably priced car, only to find out I’m slower than David Hasselhof. I’m realistic about my abilities, so I don’t expect to turn a faster lap than Brian Johnson of AC/DC. Still, I’d hate to get there and
wind up on the bottom of the U.S. guest speeds. At the very least, I’d expect to beat Mark Wahlberg.

I’ve got good news for those who share my paranoia: Gran Turismo 5 will have the Top Gear test track in its gameplay, so you can learn every intimate detail of Hammerhead and Gambon before The Stig gives you one on one instruction. Want to see if you’re faster than the Stig in a particular car? Go right ahead, but just remember that being fast on GT5 doesn’t necessarily translate into being fast behind the wheel of a real car. Crash damage tends to hurt more in real life, too.

      – LOL! Me, too. In fact, I’m more worried about losing precious tenths trying to come to grips with shifting with my left hand….ah, those wacky Brits.
