As far as car shows go the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Monterey, CA is pretty much considered to be the best there is. This is where the best of the best come and get ogled by the rich and famous and the whose who of the car world. Therefore this means that I must be present! For 3 days the town of Carmel is taken over by some of the most amazing (and most expensive) automobiles in existence. Last year was my first foray to this event and after seeing it, I made myself a promise that I would be back every year as long as time and money allowed.
Well, this year I got lucky as I am out here in sunny California again, more than 3000 miles from beautiful downtown Queens, NY. I plan on not only hobnobbing with the rich and famous, but attending a few auctions (as a spectator of course) and then at the end, bringing all of my photos and experiences of this amazing event, back to you guys. My ride for this weekends festivities will be none other than my trusty 1968 Dodge Charger. It’s not a Pebble Beach Concours show car, but it’s no slouch either and it may help me get into a few events that I might be shunned away from if I was driving a standard Hertz rental ride. All I know is that for the next 2 days I’m going to be in automobile nirvana, so wish me luck and if you see a guy trying to fit in with an old black muscle car, well it’s probably me, so make sure to come over and say hello.
