The first Audi R8 V10 to be delivered on U.S. soil was auctioned for $500,000 at the 2009 Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance this week. Proceeds from the auction went to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County and generated more than $1 million for the non-profit children’s organization.
Powered by a powerful 10-banger, the R8 V10 produces an impressive 525-horsepower and makes the sprint from 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds. Already a highly desirable vehicle, the R8 V10 featured at the Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance was made all the more exclusive by the fact that the R8 V10 will be not be available for widespread sale until the 4th quarter of 2009. “The live and silent auctions at the Gala always feature amazing items,” said James E. McDonnell IV, Chairman of the Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance Event. “But this year we have truly topped the charts. In fact, the auction lineup has made a mark in history by offering one of the most sought after vehicles in the country to guests.”
