File under “F” for failure…

Burnouts are something that I feel should be reserved for rear-wheel drive cars, as smoke coming off the front tires simply doesn’t look right to me. The burnout, when done correctly, is a joy for all to see. It evokes the feeling of raw power, performance and let’s face it, is just downright cool to watch. To perform one correctly however there are a few rules that one must abide to. First off you must choose your location wisely, as performing this hoonage in the wrong arena could land you in some serious hot water. Secondly, you should inspect your vehicle for proper maintenance and or any kinds of fluid leakage before the attempt is made. And third, and this is a big one, you actually need to know how to do a burnout. Follow these recommendations and you’ll be able to incinerate your tires at will. If you decide to simply throw caution to the wind however and just go for it, well then, you may just end up like this guy.

  1. Do you know what’s even more cooler than a regular burnouts? Burnouts during a high speed chase that’s televised. We have a lot of them here in L.A. They aren’t deliberate burn outs either but cars that are actually burning out literally on the road while being chased by 5 cop cars.

hahaha so many wrongs in the video !!!!
the cars in on an incline with all the weight on the front wheels which means more grip
and he’s got aftermarket rims that are usually wider than stock, which translates to more rubber and thus more grip again
on top of the added grip, those rims look toooo heavy for a lil 4 banger, thus more wheel mass, and more torque required to rotate them !
allll the wrongs in one video !!! great find ! lol

and im just curious to know wht exactly went wrong ?? was it a piston giving up or the drive shaft ? any clue ?

Judging by the fact that his hood jumped about a foot in the air, looks like tried to make a break for freedom. It really looks like a piston flew through the head.

  4. Junkyard Joe says:

This is tough to watch. Facepalm,…. twice. I like how an attempt is made to pop the hood afer the fact…as if the catastrophic damage isn’t clear enough.

  5. Ladon says:

The failure isnt from the wheels or the incline, Its trying to do a burn out with a front wheel drive car while holding the brakes. In other words he is trying to spin the same wheels he is applying the most braking force to.

  6. Shahroz says:

true, but i still think the wheels and the incline are a major factor.
i’ve seen FWD’s pull off ‘burn outs’, it can be done, but its more tricky than it is with a RWD
