Ferrari 430 Stacked Hard at Race Track!

The Ferrari F430 is considered by some to be one of the best Ferrari’s ever made. It’s combination of power, balance and handling make it not only a wonderful street car, but a downright weapon on the racetrack. That is however if it is driven properly. In the following video you see the driver of this red F430 doing a pretty good job of wheeling the prancing horse through the turns, until however, at the end of a series of quick turns he looses traction and pitches the car into the tire wall. After reviewing the video you’ll notice that the driver is a big fan of riding up high on the corner ribbing, which in the end I believe was his undoing. There is a nice left, right, left transition, but upon his entrance into the final left it looks as though he unsettled the chassis when he clipped the corner ribbing. The subsequent crash into the tire wall was pretty violent and even looked to have knocked the driver unconscious for a brief moment. Take a look at the video and voice up your opinion as I’m very curious to hear some thoughts on this.

i think he was trying to over do it on an average track day…
i mean would you reallly want to push a f430 over violent ribbings unless ur life depended on it lol ?

and im in no position to judge, but it seemed like he couldve controlled it a bit better than he did …. the whole crash seemed avoidable after he lost the rear end

looked like when his driver rear wheel hit the ribbing/grass it made his rear end break loose, and it sounded like he tried to power out of it, then realized he was gonna go into the wall so he locked them up trying to steer out of it, and his momentum just slid him into the wall.

    I’m assuming 430’s don’t have abs?

The curbs at Monza are considered tricky, even for F1 drivers. They are tall (and sharp!), but aggressively riding them is considered the quick way around the track….unless of course you lose it and shunt the car. Tough to say what caused it, other than what has already been said – the back end swaps around on exit, steering wheel is at opposite lock (yet the car isn’t responding), he jams on the brakes…and whammo. Damn shame.

He wasn’t even pushing it; he just shouldn’t have touched the curb.
