Ferrari 308 GTB Group 4

This is not Magnum’s Ferrari. It’s a Ferrari 308 GTB Group 4 rally racer and it’s incredible. In stock form, the 308 is one of the least sexy Ferraris. Slather it in blue paint and Pioneer race livery, however, and  it’s beguiling. This car was built by Giuliano Michelotto, tuner of the legendary Lancia Stratos. Its 3-liter V-8 is fed by mechanical fuel injection, has a 10.5:1 compression ratio and puts out 315 horsepower at a screaming 8,000 rpm. Then there are the fender flares and gold barrel-shaped Campagnolos. The rally 308 did fairly well, even winning the Targa Florio in 1981. At the time, drivers were impressed with how quick it was through the dirt sections. If this isn’t lust-worthy, I don’t know what is.
