2012 Nissan Rogue SV FWD: RideLust Review
As the end of the world draws nigh, many Bronson-influenced, budding vigilantes like myself have been keeping a keen eye trained on military and police auctions, searching for that perfect post-apocalyptic vehicle with which to battle marauding bands of looters. The biggest difficulty us enterprising young gunslingers face, however, is the thorough “civilianization” most fleet vehicles undergo. By the time they hit the auction block, things like grill-mounted flame throwers and poison gas ejectors have already been removed and the only evidence of its former ass-kicking days are the few stray bullet holes in the A-pillar.
But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is a 1985 USMC Humvee 6.2 Diesel, up for auction out of Seagoville, Texas. With only 20,000 original miles on the odometer and all of its tactical gear still operative, this Humvee is in fighting shape. In addition to a RT 524 Radio,Vic 1 Intercom and Trimble GPS that are all in standard working order, this ’85 grunt-mobile also comes with more battle capacity than the Korean army. Although it’s difficult to distinguish from the photos, the Humvee comes with a fully-functioning (and in one case, new) machine gun turret, weapons tray, ammunition canister mounts, and smoke grenade launchers.
Working smoke grenade launchers. I assure you, I have never known a love as great as this.
