The Mercedes-Benz SL has always been the German manufacturers premier model when it came to drop-top fun. The first SL popped up 58 years ago in the form of the 190SL roadster. It was long, low and sleek and to this day is considered to be one of the most iconic automotive shapes ever created. Through the years the SL has gone through stages, some good, and some (all of the 1980’s) were bad . Mercedes newest SL is nothing short of stupendous with a newly redefined shape and enough power to pull a small moon out of orbit. Chris Harris of Youtube’s DRIVE Network recently had a chance to drive the old and the new and came away with some pretty interesting insights on both.
