DRIVE ANGRY: Where CGI Reigns Supreme

Drive Angry

Can someone please tell Nicolas Cage to stop making movies for the sake of a paycheck. We all know he can act, hell, just watch some of his old flicks like Raising Arizona (in my top 5 by the way), Moonstruck or Adaptation. They’re all good movies and prove that the boy does in fact have talent. In DRIVE ANGRY Cage plays a father that escapes from hell – yes you read that right – and goes on the warpath in order to avenge the death of his slain daughter. When I first saw the preview I actually got excited by all the muscle cars prancing about. However, when I noticed the 1969 Dodge Charger was EXACTLY the same one used in Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof, I immediately lost all respect for this flick. I mean shit, at least repaint the thing and add some different wheels or something. Combine that with cut rate CGI, and you’ve got a flick that looks as though it isn’t going to amount to much. I’ll reserve my final thoughts though until the final reviews come out.

That was painful… much like his acting.

I really dig the Chevelle though… looks just like my father’s car that is slowly rotting away in the garage.

perhaps he might owe uncle sam a ton of money? just a thought.

They had better special effects in the old B movie horror flicks.

I think I did see something about him having to sell off properties and such to meet a tax bill or something like that.

Though I don’t think he’s the greatest out there, he’s definitely better than this.

A shame, if it’s named after you, MrAngry, the least they can do is get it right.
