Located in a city known for its understated elegance and refined luxury, Florida-based custom auto buffs, Coach Builders Ltd., have unveiled their new, reptilian Dodge Challenger convertible. Scheduled to make its debut at the SEMA show next month in Vegas, Coach Builders’ custom Challenger package costs a whopping $16,000 (not including the price of the actual Challenger), but with Dodge’s recent announcement to kill plans for a convertible Challenger, it’s the only way you’re going to score a droptop. Currently, the only significant Challenger mod Coach Builders’ has to offer is the fully-insulated, power-operated cloth convertible top, but they admitted they’re burning the midnight oil, feverishly working to assemble an extensive list of more Dodge Challenger aftermarket accessories. While the Challenger convertible pictured above is the ride Coach Builders will be showing at SEMA next month, it isn’t exactly the $16,000 version that will be available to customers. It’s unclear how true a representation the gator green convertible is of the final product, but hopefully the market-ready mod packs will keep the convertible croc’s supercharged 560-hp 6.1L HEMI V8, and lose the Chip Foose 22’s.
