Ever drive by a car show in an open field or shopping center parking lot and wonder how all those cars got there? Well you may not believe it, but these things are in fact, organized. The small ones are relatively easy to get rolling as you simply get a few friends together, stuff them in a parking lot and your done. The big ones though, those suckers take some time. First off, and if you think you’ll get big enough numbers, you’ll have to deal with your local municipalities, law enforcement and local businesses. Then you’ll have to coordinate security, vendors and staff. Lastly and this one is big… you’d better pray for some good weather. I’ve been to loads of shows over the years and while their always fun, I’d much rather be a participant than an organizer. Click through to see why.

Never heard of a three day car show. Not sure how they pulled off that without even a small attendence fee.

  2. When I was in my early twenties I had a friend who was into import racing/street racing and I would go to “street shows” all the time; a lot of them were held in Ontario, CA and many in industrial areas. In Orange County I also see a lot of organized low riders folks around Bristol Santa Ana; especially on Sunday night. It’s like 50 low riders and trucks in the Vons parking lot; it’s a known cruising spot. Everyone always runs when the cops come.

It’s not a “car show” to the previous poster… It’s a bunch of people “gathering” and “kicking it” in a parking lot. Their friends call their friends and before you know it there’s 100 people hanging out in the lot. Then the cops come and people run. It’s not a “real” car show. Just people meeting up and cruising or racing but it can get really big fast.
