2012 Chevrolet Sonic LTZ: RideLust Review
As a three time Winston Cup champion and winner of some 84 NASCAR races, Darrell Waltrip knows a thing or two about driving race cars. He’s logged his share of miles at speed as a driver, but most of those were racked up on banked ovals. Even road courses used by NASCAR are fairly tame compared to the circuit used by V8 Supercars in Bathurst, Australia, which seems to consist of blind uphill and downhill corners, many of which seem to lack positive camber.
Waltrip is best known these days for his color commentary, and he certainly doesn’t disappoint in the video below. Sure, some of it was hamming for the camera, but as a former driver Waltrip is clearly uncomfortable with the speeds V8 Supercar drivers carry into corners.
