By this point we all know that the uber popular BBC television show Top Gear has been marred by controversy as their tame racing driver, otherwise known as The Stig, was outed as race driver Ben Collins. The Stig had built up this reputation as somewhat of a mystical masked man whose only job in life was to remain anonymous and drive fast. Now that the world knows the Stig’s true identity the next question is, what does show host Jeremy Clarkson think. In an exclusive interview with WitneyTV.co.uk, Clarkson gives us all a little snippet as to why he was not only hurt by Ben Collin’s actions, but why he feels that his greed damaged the show.

I don’t know….seems to me like the whole thing has been blown out of proportion. Most fans of the show already knew (or assumed) that the Stig was Collins. So this was not quite the shocker that the BBC folks are making it out to be.

Yeah, wasn’t the Stig pretty much outed a while ago in the report on Hammond’s accident? I love the show but I think being too obviously scripted lately rather than anything Ben Collins has done has hurt the show in my opinion.
