Apparently Fiat’s acquisition of Chrysler was an even more enlightened business decision than previously thought as J.D. Power and Associates released their 2009 Initial Quality Study findings today. Shockingly, and I don’t think that’s too strong a word, five of the top 10 most improved vehicles were from Chrysler. Next step, convincing people to buy them.
The five vehicles from Chrysler that are singled out for this distinction are the Chrysler Sebring, Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Avenger, Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Liberty. In reality, to make the most improved list it helps to have significant areas in need of revising, which judging by this list was not difficult for some of these cars. (We are looking at you Sebring) Still, Chrysler is touting these findings as an indication that their collective efforts are turning things around. And particularly for the Wrangler and Grand Caravan, which are practically automotive institutions in and of themselves, their continued improvement despite their long lifespans is critical for the renewal of the entire Chrysler lineup.
