Chevy C10 vs Porsche vs Ferrari

It’s not often you hear of a Chevy pickup truck giving a Ferrari or Porsche a run for their money at the drag strip. There are those however who like to play the underdog card and because of this they’ll try to do more with less. The problem with this philosophy though is it generally doesn’t work. Automotive technology has grown by leaps and bounds since the 1960′s to the point where cubic inches are no longer the deciding factor when it comes to racing. Modern super cars today are wonders of technology which means that even if you’re old muscle car is making double the power of the new stuff, that’s simply no guarantee that the checkered flag will be yours.

1967 Eleanor Mustang

If anyone wanted to know the secret to a mans heart, well then, here it is. First take one bad-ass muscle car, in this case a 1967 Eleanor Mustang. Then take a stunningly beautiful woman and dress her in the least amount of clothes possible. Then third, have her check your dipstick while she lights your tires on fire. It’s a pretty simple formula actually that just needs to be put into practice more often.

The General Lee

It’s indestructible, it’s orange and it’s also the most recognizable car in the world. It’s the 1969 Dodge Charger known as the “General Lee”, and if you were kid in the late 1970′s and early 1980′s, this flying tomato can was your hero. Sure there were those two rednecks with the hot cousin who drove it, but for those of us into cars, the General Lee was (and still is) the King of the hill. The following video is a compilation of every jump the GL made in its first six seasons on the air. It flew long, landed hard and at days end just kept on running with the reliability of a Swiss watch.

1000 hp Jeep SRT8

If you would have asked me 10 years ago if you’d be seeing reliable 1,000 horsepower tuner cars and trucks roaming the streets I’d have laughed at you. Nowadays though they seem to be around every corner. Cars like the Nissan GT-R, Chevrolet Corvette and Dodge Viper routinely see these numbers and have been known to click off quarter mile times in the 8-second range. But what about a Jeep? Namely the Jeep SRT8. Back when they were released in 2006 these 5,000 lb all-wheel drive lumps came shod with a 6.1-liter HEMI V8 that made 425 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. However with A LOT of tuning, some ingenuity and a butt-load of cash there are those who have managed to break the magic 1,000 hp number. Click through and check it out.

Crash Cam Destruction

Ever see a photo or piece of video and wonder, “How in the hell did they get that shot?” Sometimes it’s skill and perseverance and yet other times it’s sheer luck. In today’s world of action sports photographers risk life and limb in the quest to get perfection. Sometimes though they need to improvise and when that happens there can be casualties. One such casualty was a Canon 5Dmkii used by cameraman Shane Hurlbut. It’s been beat up, slammed and tossed in more directions then you can imagine. The footage it’s captured however… simply amazing. Dan Pina Racing

Whether you like it or not the fox body Ford Mustangs that were produced from 1979-1993 are bona fide American icons. They’ve graced high school parking lots throughout the United States, been run on countless drag strips, and have been the topic of bench racers from around the globe. They were also used as pursuit vehicles for many highway patrol units for years. A gentleman by the name of Dan Pina constructed his own version of a California Highway Patrol Mustang, dubbed “DRIFT PATROL” as a tribute to the boys in blue, and my God if it isn’t just all sorts of bad ass.
