Dom’s New Dodge

DomsCharger

It’s as much a part of the Fast and Furious franchise as any of the main characters, and has been in all but 2 of the 6 installments. It’s Dom’s 1970 Dodge Charger, and although it gets destroyed during each go-round, movie magic has proven that this old Dodge has more lives then any cat you’ve ever come to know and love. For the Fast and Furious 6, the Charger is once again, back. However this time it’s been reincarnated as a highly modified 1969 Dodge Daytona, the pinnacle of the Chargers evolution. Logic dictates that using a Daytona was the next step for the Charger, however now my curiosity is really peaked as I’m wondering what’s going to show up in F&F 7…

Triumph Scrambler

Sometimes with cars and motorcycles getting back to basics is the best thing you can do. Take Triumphs new Scrambler 900 for example. A no frills motorcycle that gives the rider everything they need, and nothing they don’t. With 58 hp and 50 lb-ft of torque, the 900 has plenty of power to get you up and rolling, while at the same time, providing one with a bike that’s one of the nicest nostalgia rides we’ve come across in quite some time. Host Jamie Robinson gives us a little insight into just what makes this new Scrambler so special.

ICON Derelicts

The thing about trends is that you never know just how long they’re going to last. Case-in-point; heavily patina’d cars with modern conveniences and drive-trains. For most of us, the idea of driving around in a rusted hulk is downright repulsive. But what if they were done up, and done up right. This was the vision that Jonathan Ward, founder of ICON Derelicts, had when he embarked on an automotive adventure that he hoped a few discerning enthusiasts would follow.

Road Rage

While some folks out there may find road rage amusing, I can assure you that there’s nothing funny about it. The following video shows us an irate Toyota Camry driver doing everything they can to cause an accident with a gray and red sports car. Now, unfortunately the driver of the striped car didn’t call the police, but that is exactly what should’ve be done in a situation such as this. In a day and age when dash cameras are all the rage pulling a stunt like this and getting away with it is going to be harder and harder to do. Click through and check it out.

Nissan Track Test

Pro-touring is the art of taking and old car and fitting it with modern components so as to give it the performance to be able to run head-to-head with today’s modern sports cars. Now when most people think of this, they immediately think of modernized muscle cars. But what about taking vintage imports and doing the same thing. MotorTrend recently got two amazing Nissan Z cars together for an all-out track comparison. Car 1 was a modern day 370z fitted with just about every bolt-on you could possibly purchase over the parts counter. Car 2 was a vintage 1970 Datsun 240z with an RB26 engine transplant that was built by Gordon MacSwain of Ohio. Both cars are fast, nimble and have serious track cred, but at days end, who will be the victor? Click through to find out.
