Teen Driver Safety

I can’t imagine a worse feeling than losing a child. Professional drag racer Doug Herbert had the unfortunate experience of losing his two teenage sons in January 2008 when a collision took both their lives. No doubt devastated, Herbert decided to put his families tragedy on full display for all those to see by setting up B.R.A.K.E.S (Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe). This Non Profit 501 C 3 Proactive Defensive Teen Driving School was created to educate both teens and parents alike on the dangers of inexperienced drivers. The above link is one that is definitely worth clicking on, so please make sure to do so. Also, check out Doug Herbert’s message to the general public after the jump.

2013 SRT Viper

640 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. Those are the numbers pumped out from the 2013 SRT Viper’s 8.4-liter V-10. Now for those who don’t know, the 2013 SRT Viper is the first snake to come with launch control, a system that optimizes engine management and traction so as to get the best 0-60 mph and quarter mile times possible. The real question though is, does it actually work on the raucous Viper. Eric Tingwall, Technical Editor for Car & Driver Magazine recently put the Viper’s launch control through its paces to see if it could indeed, handle all that v10 power.
