Ken Block Ford Fiesta

Not too many people can command the attention that Ken Block grabs when he posts a new video. Obviously Block is known for his outstanding gymkhana videos on Youtube, but his exploits in WRC aren’t anything to sneeze at either. Recently Block was out testing his Ford Fiesta Rally car in a 100 acre wooded area at Sayers Brook Bison Ranch in Missouri. He and co-driver Alex Gelsomino not only nailed the wooded test stage, but got some great film coverage while doing so. Click through for the video and enjoy.

Street Trials…Vintage Style

Vintage Trials Bike

It’s one thing to take a modern day mountain bike and go off bouncing through your neighborhood, but a 1970′s vintage bike? Well, that’s another story entirely. For one thing modern bicycles are constructed to handle the extreme punishment that today’s hardcore riders can dish out. They’re built from materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber and have been strength tested. The bicycles from the 1970′s though, not so much. However, in this day and age we must all use what we have at our disposal, which is one of the reasons the following video is so great. All the bike needs on it though is a little basket, a bell and some handlebar whiskers to make it perfect. Click through for the video and enjoy.

Motorcycle vs. Car Drift Battle 2

Drift Battle

Take two long swing-arm sport bikes, add a couple of really good riders and a Ford Mustang drift car painted up in Police livery and you’ve just developed the recipe for one helluva short moto-movie. The following film was produced by Icon Motorsports and features riders Nick Brocha and Ernie Vigil on a wicked pair of Triumph Speed Triples. Modified to roll sideways at full tilt, these two bikes are sure to be the catalyst as the sport of drifting heads from 4-wheels to two. That is of course unless they get caught by officer Dan Brockett in his 550 horsepower Ford Mustang Cobra. Click through for the video and enjoy.

Insane Single Track Mountain Biking…

Insane Mountain Biking

Back in the early 1980′s when mountain biking was in it’s infancy, a good bike basically consisted of a rigid framed 10-speed with some knobby tires attached to it. There was no suspension, no disc brakes, and helmets were well… optional. Nowadays though mountain bikers have taken the sport to a level where not only are the bikes wonders of engineering, but they can take you to places that you might not make it back from. What you are about to see is some of the craziest single-track mountain biking I’ve ever seen, yet the riders are about as calm as calm can be. Hell, if I ever find myself in a situation like that, mountain bike or not, I’ll be looking to get air lifted home…

Motorcycle Puppet Master!

Roller Blade Motorcycle

Skill, ingenuity, precision and minor brain damage. Those are the qualities that one must have in order to pull off a stunt like this. I mean riding a motorcycle is one thing, but setting it up via rope controls so you can roller blade behind it is simply nuts. Now, is it cool to watch? Yes. Is it exciting? Yes. Will we be surprised when this guy crashes and splits his head open? Well… no. Again, interesting concept, but not something I’d recommend trying at home.

Polish Hoonigans

I suppose as car enthusiasts we’ll always be intrigued by a good video as long as it incorporates all the right elements. Obviously burnouts, power-slides, dirt, jumps and obstacle courses are all things that are a must in this day and age, but what happens when you want to go above and beyond… what then? Well if you’re a couple of Polish hoonigans then you include one very special piece of equipment… a tank, a big f*ckin’ tank.

Ryan Moore Stunt Rider

Every time I see stunt riders do their thing I go into a state of amazement. It’s one thing to simply go out and pull a wheelie every now and then, but pulling off tricks like Ryan Moore here, well, that’s another story all together. You see riders like Moore make death defying stunts look easy as they possess a sense of balance, skill and internal fortitude that few others have. They don’t worry about the physical consequence in as much as they worry about not perfecting their craft. The following video shows Moore doing what he does best… showing off.

Having Fun with Ken Block

Ken Block Gymkhana

Honestly, I would love to say that I’m getting sick and tired of watching Ken Block’s videos, but the truth is they’re all really great fun. Whether he’s hooning around playing gymkhana on a closed course, rallying in WRC or simply doing some testing, Block has a way of creating the type of automotive fun that we all wish we were a part of. I’m sure the following video is nothing extraordinary to Block and his team as for them it’s just part of their daily duties. For those of us though who are stuck behind a computer all day, well… let’s just say that Block has a better job then most people.

Ken Block World Tour

Ken Block just recently finished up his gymkhana world tour and with it comes not only some great highlights, but loads and loads of tire smoking action. Block started his tour in Vienna, Austria, then hit-up good ole’ Los Angeles California, with his final stop happening in Melbourne Australia. Keep in mind that this tour contained not only the antics of Mr. Block, but also some of the best freestyle motorcyclists in the world. Adam Jones, Alastair Sayer, Martin Shenck and Blake “Bilko” Williams were all on hand to partake in the festivities. That meant that not only were fans treated to some of the best four-wheeled hooning around, but they also got a first-hand look at what it’s like to fly ass-over-tea-kettle on a big-bore motor-bike. There’s no doubt that Block’s tour was a phenomenal success, however now the big question is, when is the next Gymkhana video coming out?

Off Road Photography

I have yet to find out the reasons why WRC and off-road desert racing fans feel the need to put their lives at risk every time they view an event. I mean I understand wanting to be close to the action, but getting in the middle of it just to get a great picture… well, that’s a death wish as far as I’m concerned. It’s no secret that motorsports fans are some of the most devoted of any sports genre, however when that devotion puts not only yourself, but the actual participants at risk, then there is something seriously wrong. The fan you are about to see no doubt feels as though he is doing the right thing by jumping in front of speeding off-road buggies for media purposes, but in reality he’s just moments away from causing a catastrophic accident. In fact if there was an award for the dumbest move in motorsports I think this guy would be a shoe-in.
