200 mph Movie

I simply had to post this clip that was taken from the movie “200 MPH”. You see our good friends over at The Smoking Tire had originally posted this up and to be honest, it’s an f*cking priceless piece of movie magic. Hell, one reviewer over at IMDB.com stated the following:

“Wow, words cannot describe how bad this movie was. It is bar none, the worst movie I have ever seen and I am so glad I watched it! My friends and I couldn’t stop laughing, if you know anything about cars, heck anything about real life, this pathetic movie will have you rolling for days.” IMDB.com reviewer Matthew Van

What the Nissan GT-R does to people’s faces.

Nissan GT-R

I’ll admit it. The first time I rode in a Nissan GT-R when launch control was engaged I was pretty awe struck. I mean I used to think that running 3.5 seconds on a motorcycle was fast, but in a car? Hell, that was unheard of. Nowadays though it seems that every high horsepower car with all-wheel-drive and launch control is capable of doing a sub 4-second 0-60 mph sprint. Now if you’re familiar with these cars then you already know what to expect. However, just for shits and giggles one fun loving owner decided to record the faces of those who have no idea what a GT-R is capable of, the results of which are pretty damn funny.

Ridelust Review: 2013 Nissan 370Z Touring

Posted in Car Reviews, Featured, General, Import, Import Review, Import Rides, Nissan, Nissan GT-R, Rides by MrAngry | September 17th, 2012 | 2 Responses |

2013 Nissan 370Z Touring

PRO’s: Great chassis, interior and handling characteristics.

CON’s: High clutch pedal engagement, buzzy engine, road noise.

FINAL THOUGHT: A true drivers car that retains all the values and fun that made the original Datsun 240Z such a great car over 40 years ago.

It seems that in recent years the motoring public has forgotten that Nissan makes another sports car aside from the GT-R. It’s one that steeped with more than 40 years of history and truth be told, it’s the car that put Nissan (then Datsun) on the map here in the United States. The Nissan “Z” car, now in it’s sixth generation, has always been a competent sports car. During the 1970’s it changed the way America thought about Japanese performance machines. Cars from the 1980’s brought fourth machines that highlighted the cars technology. In the 1990’s we were introduced to some real performance by the way of twin-turbo’s and then during the early part of the new millennium, Nissan went back to its roots by developing a new Z car for a new generation of fans. This is a 2013 Nissan 370Z Touring that’s been equipped with just about every bell and whistle in Nissan’s arsenal and although it’s not perfect, it is one helluva fun car to flog around.

1,100 HP Switzer “Ultimate Street Edition” GTR

Switzer GTR

Not long ago Matt Farah of “TUNED” drove Switzer’s 950 horsepower Nissan GTR that ran on E85 ethanol. It was a great car no doubt, but according to Matt not only was it in desperate need of better brakes, but it required it’s own mobile E85 filling station every time you took it out. This time Matt’s back with another Switzer GTR known as the “Ultimate Street Edition”. It makes 1,100 hp, runs on pump gas and has enhanced bits and pieces that make it a better all around vehicle than the previous car he tested. However with modifications that cost a whopping $85,000 on top of the base price of a stock GTR one has to really ask themselves – is it worth it? Click through to find out.

Nissan Juke-R vs. Porsche 911 GT2 RS – CAR and DRIVER

Porsche GT2 RS vs Nissan Juke-R

One has a twin-turbo flat-6 engine making 620-hp, 60 years of racing pedigree and is basically a spec-racer for the street. The other started life as an urban crossover, is manufactured by a company known for its economy cars and has looks only a mother could love. We speak of course about the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and Nissan’s Juke-R. Even though the Porsche is a full-on production machine and the Nissan a performance design exercise, Car and Driver Magazine still felt it relevant to pit them together in a strange, yet awesome head to head battle.

The Nissan Juke-R: Desert Nemesis

Nissan Juke-R

When it comes to skunk work projects Nissan’s Juke-R is about as cool as they get, albiet it being completely ridiculous. What Nissan did was take their little Juke crossover, gut it, then shoehorn in the engine and drive-train from the super awesome GT-R. The result? A wicked little hooligan car with a take-no-prisoners attitude and a wicked case of short-man syndrome.

AMS Alpha Omega Nissan GT-R

Ask anyone on the street what “fast” is and the odds of them quoting you a number over 100 mph is pretty damn good. Ask them what “really fast” is and most likely you’ll hear above 150 mph or so. Now imagine that you’re doing over 230 mph and your car has a hiccup – OH SH*T! In that instance you realize that the fear of death begins to fight the rush of adrenaline and in one memorable moment your life flashes before your eyes. This is what I assume happened to Ivan Phillips as he piloted the AMS Alpha Omega GT-R to a record top speed of 233 mph. Click through and watch the action begin.

Nissan GT-R vs Porsche 911

Power-slides, burnouts and some general information are the three main components of any good automotive video. Add to that some wonderful cars and presenter who can really drive and well, so much the better. Tiff Needell has been around for quite some time and has just recently joined the ranks over at EVO Magazine. His first task? Pit the 2012 Nissan GT-R against Porsche’s new 2012 911 Carrera S.
