Chris Harris on Cars

Fast, fun and all-wheel drive. Those were the parameters that Chris Harris set forth when he put together this comparison test between the R8 V10 Plus, Porsche 911 Turbo S and a Litchfield GT-R. All are stock except for the GT-R which has been tuned to the likes of 750 hp. However, does all that extra power necessarily make it better than its German rivals? Harris recently put this trio through a gaggle of tests to find out exactly that!

Check it out after the jump.

Nissan GT-R

Athletes and high performance automobiles go together like peanut butter and jelly. That’s why it should come as no surprise that professional downhill skateboarder Kevin Reimer drives a modified 1991 Nissan Skyline GT-R. Reimer tells us that he was drawn to the GT-R because it possesses the same key elements that he utilizes in downhill boarding; grip and control. Click through and check it out!

Track Battle

We all know about shows like Top Gear, Fifth Gear and hell, even Fast N Loud. But there’s another automotive program that actually trumps every single one of them. It’s called Best Motoring and it’s featured only in Japan. The show pits super-cars against each other in no-holds-barred track battles that are truly epic. What you are about to see has been out for awhile, however once you hit the play button I think you’ll forget about that. Think Ferrari F40 vs Porsche GT2 vs Lamborghini Diablo vs GT3 RS vs Ferrari 355 vs Nissan GT-R vs Ferrari F50. Crazy right! Check it out after the jump.

R32 Nissan GT-R

If you’re an automotive enthusiast here in the United States then you probably know there were earlier versions of the Nissan GT-R before the current model. In fact the Nissan GT-R has been around in one form or another since 1969. The R32, or third Gen GT-R, was produced from 1989-1994 and never sold here in the States. It’s also regarded by some to be one of the most collectible GT-R’s out there. Endless, a tuner shop in Japan, has managed to get a whopping 1,200 hp out of the R32 and done so in a manner that not only keeps the car streetable, but reliable as well.

Nissan GT-R

As some of you may remember Tiff Needle of the UK speed program “Fifth Gear” used to be apart of that other UK show, “Top Gear”. This of course was back in the ’90′s when cars were slow, exhibited mass body role and the world thought the American’s still made crap cars. This episode originally aired back in 1998 and features a Porsche 911 Carrera, a Nissan Skyline GT-R, a Honda NSX and a Chevrolet C5 Corvette, and even though it’s a bit dated, it’s still great fun to watch.

Bartku Ostalowskim

Sometimes you come across a story or individual that simply inspires you to strive for that next level. This is Bartku Osta?owskim, a professional drifter who pilots a Nissan GT-R without the use of his arms. The steering, throttle and brake are all controlled by Bartku’s feet, while gear selection on the automatic transmission is done by using a special rod and linkage system that is controlled by his shoulder. Say what you will, but seeing this guy sling a car around a closed course with no arms is pretty damn impressive if you ask me!

200 mph Movie

I simply had to post this clip that was taken from the movie “200 MPH”. You see our good friends over at The Smoking Tire had originally posted this up and to be honest, it’s an f*cking priceless piece of movie magic. Hell, one reviewer over at IMDB.com stated the following:

“Wow, words cannot describe how bad this movie was. It is bar none, the worst movie I have ever seen and I am so glad I watched it! My friends and I couldn’t stop laughing, if you know anything about cars, heck anything about real life, this pathetic movie will have you rolling for days.” IMDB.com reviewer Matthew Van

What the Nissan GT-R does to people’s faces.

Nissan GT-R

I’ll admit it. The first time I rode in a Nissan GT-R when launch control was engaged I was pretty awe struck. I mean I used to think that running 3.5 seconds on a motorcycle was fast, but in a car? Hell, that was unheard of. Nowadays though it seems that every high horsepower car with all-wheel-drive and launch control is capable of doing a sub 4-second 0-60 mph sprint. Now if you’re familiar with these cars then you already know what to expect. However, just for shits and giggles one fun loving owner decided to record the faces of those who have no idea what a GT-R is capable of, the results of which are pretty damn funny.

Ridelust Review: 2013 Nissan 370Z Touring

2013 Nissan 370Z Touring

PRO’s: Great chassis, interior and handling characteristics.

CON’s: High clutch pedal engagement, buzzy engine, road noise.

FINAL THOUGHT: A true drivers car that retains all the values and fun that made the original Datsun 240Z such a great car over 40 years ago.

It seems that in recent years the motoring public has forgotten that Nissan makes another sports car aside from the GT-R. It’s one that steeped with more than 40 years of history and truth be told, it’s the car that put Nissan (then Datsun) on the map here in the United States. The Nissan “Z” car, now in it’s sixth generation, has always been a competent sports car. During the 1970′s it changed the way America thought about Japanese performance machines. Cars from the 1980′s brought fourth machines that highlighted the cars technology. In the 1990′s we were introduced to some real performance by the way of twin-turbo’s and then during the early part of the new millennium, Nissan went back to its roots by developing a new Z car for a new generation of fans. This is a 2013 Nissan 370Z Touring that’s been equipped with just about every bell and whistle in Nissan’s arsenal and although it’s not perfect, it is one helluva fun car to flog around.
