Ferrari 328

This is Joe Frazar, an automotive enthusiast that you should listen to. Joe’s automotive philosophy is simple – buy cars to drive, collect and enjoy, but never store. His current garage holds a combination of mild Ferrari’s like a 328 GTS and a Mondial, as well as a hot-rodded Porsche 914-6 that makes him giggle like a little kid. However when he’s not driving, Joe’s searching the classifieds for the next piece of automotive kit that may, or may not, find a place in his garage.

Porsche 911 PDK VS Lotus Evora IPS

It used to be that if you were a sports car enthusiast that you lived and breathed manual transmissions. Nowadays though, manual shifted automatics like Porsche’s stellar PDK system have started to sway even the most die-hard drivers. These system shift faster and are more efficient then any manual transmission could ever hope to be. They allow you to keep both hands on the wheel, and on the race track there is no question that they’re the way to go. However what about driver involvement? Do they keep you as engaged as a pilot, or are they pulling some of the enjoyment out of driving. Road and Track recently pitted a Porsche 911 PDK and a Lotus Evora IPS in a head-to-head battle to answer this very question.

Porsche 911 GT2

To call the Porsche 911 GT2 a Porsche Turbo on steroids, really doesn’t do this car justice. We’re not taking anything away from the Turbo here, but where that’s a more high performance street car, the GT2 is more of a true drivers car. Powered by a twin-turbo flat-six that makes 530 hp, the GT2 is rear-wheel drive only and comes with a proper 6-speed manual transmission. Not as hard edged as the GT2 RS or GT3 RS, the GT2 fits into that perfect slot by blending all day livability and power, with flat-out track performance. Such an amazing machine.

Below Zero Ice Driving

Growing up in New York State meant that we were privy to wonderful hot summers and terrible, snow-covered winters. However as a teenager with a fun, rear-wheel drive car at my disposal, those winters were the stuff that drifting dreams were made of. Get a little packed snow, drop my then 1984 300ZX in 2nd gear and PRESTO! Fun for hours. Chris Harris recently took my adolescent antics to the 100th degree when he traveled up to Sweden to partake in the Below Zero Ice Driving School. Click through and check it out.

Porsche 911 RS

It’s an almost impossible thing, really. That is to say, to use one automobile for everything. Race cars for example make awful daily drivers, and daily drivers tend to make awful race cars. If there was a way to combine the two though, would you do it? Jack Olsen, owner of this vintage Porsche 911 RSR did just that with a car that he fell in love with the first time he saw it. Click through to check it out.

Porsche 911 RS 4.0

For some people the idea of running over 100 mph is a crazy thing. For guys like me and the friends I track cars with, it’s simply common place. There are those however who have the ability to take cars to a different level and do things with them that most never thought possible. This is Timo Kluck, and watching him pilot this Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 around the Nordschleife is nothing short of a sublime experience. His skill behind the wheel, throttle control and handling of the car is on a level that few people will ever achieve. In short, he’s simply amazing to watch.

Nissan GT-R

As some of you may remember Tiff Needle of the UK speed program “Fifth Gear” used to be apart of that other UK show, “Top Gear”. This of course was back in the ’90′s when cars were slow, exhibited mass body role and the world thought the American’s still made crap cars. This episode originally aired back in 1998 and features a Porsche 911 Carrera, a Nissan Skyline GT-R, a Honda NSX and a Chevrolet C5 Corvette, and even though it’s a bit dated, it’s still great fun to watch.

The Singer 911- CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS

Singer 911

At first glance the Singer 911 looks like a standard old Porsche 911 with some subtle body tweaks. Look a little harder though and you’ll begin to see that not only are there huge differences, but that there’s zero in the way of classic 911 left in this car. Chris Harris recently spent the day touring Singer’s facility and then, took one of their cars out for a canyon/road course blast. To say he came away impressed would be an understatement.
