Pagani

When you think about cars that fall into the un-obtainium category, you’re probably thinking about the Pagani Huayra AND the Pagani Zonda. Both are outstanding looking, marvels of engineering and from a performance standpoint, almost untouchable. A gentleman by the name of Peter Read happens to own both of these bad boys and thankfully for us, he’s made a small video about the two!

Gold Pagani Huayra: Macho Incarnate

Pagani Huayra

Think for moment about Disney’s animated movie CARS. Think about their personalities, how they were viewed by the other cars, and how they sounded. Now think about if YOU could come back as a car and if that was possible, what would you be. Personally, I’d come back as a highly modified late ’60s Dodge Charger, but running a close second would be this epic Pagani Huayra. Talk about a stunner…

2014 Pagani Huayra: Hyper Car or Just Plain Hype?

Pagani Huayra

The 2014 Pagani Huayra is nothing short of an automotive masterpiece. It’s stunning to look at, is a world class performer and at the same time, has the ability to make just about any other super car out there feel inferior. Under the hood lies a mid-mounted 6.0-liter, twin-turbo V-12 that’s hand built by AMG to the tune of 730 horsepower and on paper, the statistics look to top all. The real question though is – does it? Motor Trends Jonny Lieberman recently headed to Modena, Italy to find out.

Corvette XP-19

Since the Corvette’s inception in 1953, there have been rumors swirling around the brand that one day, a rear or mid-engine car may actually pop up. Understand now that the United States has only made two rear/mid engine cars; the Pontiac Fiero and the Chevrolet Corvair. However in 1964 the Corvette XP-819 prototype was developed and man-O-man would this have been an interesting car. The engine was mounted behind the rear wheels like a Porsche 911, it had urethane safety bumpers, a rack & pinon steering rack and a one piece clam shell hood. All amazingly innovative stuff for 1964. Owner Mike Yager showed off his one-off rear-engined prototype at this years Amelia Island show and to say the car was amazing would be an understatement.

EVO Car of the Year 2012: Track Battles

EVO Car of the Year 2012

Porsche vs Lotus, Toyota vs Morgan, BMW vs Porsche as well as a host of other great automobiles battle it out for the EVO Car of the Year 2012. Now while all of these battles are excellent the ones you really want to focus on are the Toyota GT86 vs the Morgan 3-Wheeler, and the McLaren 12c vs the Pagani Huayra. Sure the others are fun, but bang for the buck, these four automobiles should leave you coming away speechless.

Lego Technic Motorized Pagani Zonda

Lego Pagani Zonda

Can you imagine what Leonardo Da Vinci would have crafted if he’d had a set of Lego’s as a kid? The possibilities would’ve been endless! As a child Lego’s were simple. We had maybe 10 to 15 different styles of blocks, no electric motors and absolutely nothing with remote control capabilities. In short, these little building blocks spiked the imaginations of children the world over and kept most of them out of trouble. In this day and age Lego’s are no longer just for children and in fact have been embraced by adults. Take for instance this amazing replica of a Pagani Zonda that comes complete with full power and remote control capabilities. It was built using existing blocks from existing kits with no instructions. Pretty cool stuff if you ask me.

Pagani Huayra Chris Harris Review

The Pagani Huayra is powered by a 730 hp twin-turbo V12 that’s built by AMG. It’s got the same suspension system as the Pagani Zonda R; the same car that lapped the Nurburgring in an astonishing 6-minutes and 47-seconds. Chris Harris of the DRIVE Network got the invite to be one of the first journalists to test it out in Modena, Italy and God bless the man if he didn’t do just that! Click through for the video.

Who Knew The Chinese Had A Super Car Club?

Chinese Super Car Club

“Made in China”. That’s a sentence that is unfortunately seen on most of the goods we have over here in the United States. As Americans, we see that, sigh, and then drop our heads wishing that we produced all of our own goods and services. Apparently though that phrase is paying off big time for the Chinese as they’ve got a car club over there that rivals just about anything I’ve ever seen stateside. Pagani, Ferrari, Bugatti, Koenissegg, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz are all present and accounted for and hot damn if these guys don’t drive the piss out of them as well. Stored in a warehouse somewhere in China, the value of these automobiles together rivals the yearly economy of some small countries. So, next time you see a label that reads “Made in China”, don’t worry because it’s helping keep our favorite super car companies in business.

Horatio Pagani Visits Jay Leno’s Garage, Brings A Huayra

The Pagani Huayra. Image: Pagani Automobiles

Just in case you’re not up to speed on Italian supercars, let me sum it up like this: there’s Pagani, and then there’s everything else. Their Zonda R (which isn’t road legal) set a Nürburgring lap time of 6:47.50, besting the Ferrari 599XX in the process. Even their Zonda F Clubsport street car can lap the ‘Ring in 7:24.44, making it faster than a Ferrari Enzo. Unlike other supercars, which are mostly built by large companies owned by larger corporations, Paganis are built by hand, with a disturbing amount of time spent sweating the details. Read More…

SHIFT 2 Unleashed Presents: Pagani Huayra

Pagani Huayra

Not long ago Kurt brought you guys a post on Pagani’s new unpronounceable hypercar, the Huayra, along with a nice little photo shoot video. But now, thanks to EA Sports and SHIFT 2 Unleashed, we can bring you an even better of video of this new uber car complete with sound, fire spitting action and loads of tire smoke. Granted it’s digital footage of some game play, but quite frankly who cares? For the record, the new 2011 Pagani Huayra pumps out 700 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque thanks to its 6.0-liter Mercedes built V12 with twin turbochargers. It’ll also do 0-60 mph in under 3.5 seconds and is said to top out at over 230 mph. Those are some crazy numbers right there folks. Like I said, who really cares if this is video game footage because in the end it’s probably the closest any one of us will ever get to seeing one in person. Click through for the video.
