They tack on $7,000 worth of additional goodies, give it a fun name, and hope you don’t realize that what you’re paying for should have been part of the car in the first place. This is exactly what happened when BMW released the redesigned M5 in 2012. It garnered decent reviews, but nothing Earth shattering. So, to get M-lovers back in the saddle, BMW has now offered a competition pack for the M5. As mentioned, it costs over $7,000 in addition the standard M5′s base price. The real question though is… Is it worth it?
