TUNED

So get this. If you’ve got money (and I mean A LOT of money), and some skill behind the wheel of a car, you can grab yourself a seat in a high-dollar race car. For instance TRG Motorsports, has begun campaigning their new Aston Martin GT4 race cars for people with the means to drive and explore. Matt Farah of /TUNED recently got a chance to experience these amazing cars first hand at Sonoma Raceway in Northern, CA when the TRG guys let him behind the wheel for a few hot laps. Check it out after the jump.

The Persuaders! Aston Martin vs Ferrari

The Persuaders

It used to be that capturing a car chase was one of the most difficult endeavors in all of film making. Camera rigs were not only cumbersome, heavy and unreliable, but ungodly expensive. Today, filming automobiles is as simple as using a suction cup mount and a GoPro and lets us get shots never even thought of 40 years ago. The Persuaders, with Tony Curtis and Roger Moore was shot in the early 1970′s and features a car chase featuring a 1969 Dino 246 GT and a 1970 Aston Martin DBS. For back in the day it was actually quite good, however by today’s standards it just downright pitiful. Just goes to show you that sometimes technology is a very, very good thing.

Jaguar F-Type V8S v Aston V8 Vantage Roadster v 911S

Posted in Aston Martin, Best of, DRIVE, European Rides, Jaguar, Porsche, Rides, Videos by MrAngry | June 23rd, 2013 | Leave a Reply |

Jaguar FType V8S

The new Jaguar F-Type V8S, on paper, is a pretty stout automobile. It packs a supercharged V8 that makes 495 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. It has an 8-speed automatic transmission, is dead sexy to look at and is the first real Jaguar performer in quite some time. However before you run out and spend $100k, you may want to consider that its rivals, the Porsche 911S Convertible and the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster are also out there roaming the streets. Chris Harris recently got these three together to see which one was King of the high performer drop-tops.

Aston Martin Vanquish – An Owner’s Perspective

2013 Aston Martin Vanquish

One of the most beautiful cars ever made, the Aston Martin Vanquish remains on the want list of just about every automotive journalist out there. Stunningly good looks combined with power, class and performance made it an instant hit when it rolled out in 2001, and since it’s release there has been no equal. Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire has had a 2003 Vanquish in his family since new, and from what I gather, he’s a fan. Recently he had a chance to jump behind the wheel of the new 2013 Vanquish, and though it may not be the fastest or best handling car out there, there is no denying that it still ungodly beautiful. Check it out after the jump.

Ammo NYC

AMMO NYC founder Larry Kosilla knows a thing or two about automotive detailing. You see after caring for some of the most priceless automobiles in existence over the last decade, Kosilla became so disenfranchised with the car care industry that he took matters into his own hands and created AMMO NYC, a company dedicated to creating products that cater to the toughest automotive enthusiast. To start the year off right AMMO hosted a party at Manhattan Classic Car Club. The automotive press turned out in droves to not only have some fun, but celebrate a company that finally understands what we as dedicated petrol-heads want for our vehicles.

Battle of the Exotics: Countach vs Vanquish

Posted in Aston Martin, Best of, European Rides, General, Lamborghini, Rides, Videos by MrAngry | March 16th, 2013 | Leave a Reply |

Lamborghini Countach

The Aston Martin Vanquish and the Lamborghini Countach. Two super cars from different eras that provoke different reactions from all that view them. The Countach is the stuff that childhood dreams are made of, whereas the Vanquish is what Fortune 500 CEO’s think about. The Countach is a superhero, where the Aston Martin is an accountant. The Countach is passion, performance and penis (that’s right, I said penis) all rolled into one, where the Vanquish is a nice suit with fancy underwear. Ezra Dyer of Yahoo Autos recently got a chance to compare the two and surprisingly his thoughts were very similar to my own. The fun begins after the jump.

2008 Aston Martin Vanquish

Kit-cars, the bastard stepchildren of high-end exotics everywhere. From the iconic Ferrari 308 and Lamborghini Countach, to the Bentley Continental and Shelby Cobra, these cars do unfortunately fill a void in the automotive hobby. Most cars start out life as ill-fated Pontiac Fiero’s, but every now and again you come across one that’s actually pretty cool. Take for instance this 2008 Aston Martin Vanquish replica that’s currently for sale on eBay Motors. It started life as a 1998 Jaguar XK8 with a 300 hp 4.0L V8. From there all the body panels were stripped and the Aston kit was installed and painted matte black. Now granted, this car may not be for everyone, but as far as kit-cars go, it’s really not half bad. Click through for more pics and video after the jump.

Aston Martin One-77

It’s made of carbon fiber, has a 7.3-liter V12 that makes 730 hp, and is one of the rarest cars ever built by Aston Martin. The One-77 is one of those rare machines that comes along when a car company wants to make a statement. It’s built to show off not only their technology and innovation, but their place in the automotive world as a whole. Harry Metcalfe of EVO Magazine recently had a chance to experience the One-77 and his findings were pretty much as you’d expect them to be – brilliant!
