It’s not often you hear of a Chevy pickup truck giving a Ferrari or Porsche a run for their money at the drag strip. There are those however who like to play the underdog card and because of this they’ll try to do more with less. The problem with this philosophy though is it generally doesn’t work. Automotive technology has grown by leaps and bounds since the 1960′s to the point where cubic inches are no longer the deciding factor when it comes to racing. Modern super cars today are wonders of technology which means that even if you’re old muscle car is making double the power of the new stuff, that’s simply no guarantee that the checkered flag will be yours.

Here in the United States Ford Mustangs can be seen on just about every corner. They’re relatively inexpensive, look great and provide the masses with the greatest bang for the buck around. As Americans we tend to take this iconic pony car for granted, however in other parts of the world they’re treasured far more than we will ever know. You see to some owning a Mustang is a way of life as it truly is what defines them. Down in Brazil for example the Mustang culture is so big that they’ve decided to celebrate 11 years of the Mustang Club of Paraná by creating the amazing video you are about to watch. These enthusiasts are no different from any other automotive enthusiasts from around the globe, they love their cars, enjoy driving them and at days end, love to show them off.

Being a New York native can sometimes be a double-edged sword. For the most part it’s a great thing as people always want to know about the Big Apple, and more importantly, what it’s like to come from the greatest city on Earth. However there are those times where New Yorker’s are stereotyped because of nimrods like this guy. He calls himself the “LYRIC INFORCA”, drives a yellow Corvette Z06, and is unfortunately the worst stereotype of a New Yorker the world has ever seen. Click through for the video.

It’s official, I have found my next new car purchase. I had been reading about the new 2013 Ford Mustang GT for quite some time. However there’s a big difference between reading about it and driving it. Last week at the WAJ.org press event (Western Automotive Journalists) I finally had my chance to jump behind the wheel of Ford’s stellar pony car. Now keep in mind that my case is a bit different then most as I’ve been on the lookout for a car that can act as a Jack-of-all-trades for quite sometime. I wanted a sub-35k price tag, something that can be driven everyday, and then, to top it off, this beastie needs to be able to pull double duty as a track day weapon on the weekends.
If anyone wanted to know the secret to a mans heart, well then, here it is. First take one bad-ass muscle car, in this case a 1967 Eleanor Mustang. Then take a stunningly beautiful woman and dress her in the least amount of clothes possible. Then third, have her check your dipstick while she lights your tires on fire. It’s a pretty simple formula actually that just needs to be put into practice more often.

If you’ve ever wanted to know how to ruin your car with one simple modification, then look no further. What you are witnessing are two Chevrolet Camaro’s that have been modded with 32-inch rims. On the plus side they now have more ground clearance then most 4×4′s, but on the downside I doubt their local Chevrolet dealership is going to honor their 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.

If you would have asked me 10 years ago if you’d be seeing reliable 1,000 horsepower tuner cars and trucks roaming the streets I’d have laughed at you. Nowadays though they seem to be around every corner. Cars like the Nissan GT-R, Chevrolet Corvette and Dodge Viper routinely see these numbers and have been known to click off quarter mile times in the 8-second range. But what about a Jeep? Namely the Jeep SRT8. Back when they were released in 2006 these 5,000 lb all-wheel drive lumps came shod with a 6.1-liter HEMI V8 that made 425 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. However with A LOT of tuning, some ingenuity and a butt-load of cash there are those who have managed to break the magic 1,000 hp number. Click through and check it out.
