1967 Ford Mustang

In the world of muscle cars there are few as iconic as the 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback. It’s stunning body lines were made famous by Steve McQueen in the movie Bullitt (he drove a ’68) and since that time, it has become one of the most sought after muscle cars in existence. This particular car was, is, and will always remain (according to owner Greg Smith) a down home California drag car. From the Fenton slotted wheels and 393 Windsor stroker, to the Mickey Thompson drag slicks out back, one look will tell you that this car is all business.

Ford Fiesta ST vs Toyota GT86: TRACK BATTLE

Posted in Domestic Rides, Ford, General, Import Rides, Rides, Toyota, Videos by MrAngry | June 30th, 2013 | 2 Responses |

Ford Fiesta ST

By this time we all know that Toyota GT86 is a little pistol of a car. It’s rear-wheel drive, has a great chassis, and even though it’s only got 197 hp, it’s still hoot to drive. Ford’s new Fiesta ST is also a fun little scoot. It makes more torque than the GT86 and is front wheel drive, but does that mean it doesn’t handle as well? The guys from EVOTV took both budget hot-rods out on the track to see which was more fun and came away with some results that may surprise you.

Forumula Ford

It’s a well known fact that Europe gets some cars that we here in the United States can drool over. Ford does this all the time with cars like the Focus RS, and now with a ridiculous little thing called the Formula Ford EcoBoost. This car is basically a Formula Ford racer (only street legal), with a tuned 1-liter 3-cylinder motor that pumps out over 200 hp and that has the capability to lap the Nurburgring in 7-minutes and 22-seconds.

Shelby GT 500

An automobile dynamometer is a machine that measures the amount of horsepower that a vehicle puts out based on the exertion of force that’s distributed through a mechanical roller. Generally these machines are built into a shop floor somewhere, but there are dynamometers that are in fact, portable. I’ve seen these contraptions at car shows, and while they are quite accurate, they look to be sketchy as hell, something that the owner of this Shelby GT500 found out first hand.

Ford Fiesta ST

197 hp and 202 lb-ft of torque and a 0-60 time of under 7 seconds. Those are the numbers that Ford’s new little Fiesta ST pumps out from its 1.6L EcoBoost engine. It’s got a nice set of Recaro seats, well spaced pedals and a wonderful little shift knob with short throws. Here in the U.S. it’s priced at just a tick under $21,500, which, for a little hot-hatch of this caliber is pretty damn good. Chris Harris recently drove the European version of this car (182 hp and 215 lb-ft) and came away fairly impressed. Check out his review after the jump.

Amelia Island

The Amelia Island Concours is quickly becoming the Pebble Beach of the East Coast. Once a year some of the most stunning vehicles in the world gather for one simple task – to celebrate mechanized transportation. The goal this year was to celebrate 50 years of the Ford GT40, 50 years of Lamborghini, 50 years of the Porsche 911, 50 years of the Corvette Stingray, and Ducati motorcycle as a whole. The video is almost 16-minutes in length, but if you have the time, I fully encourage you to watch it in its entirety.

Mustang Mach 1 Reunion

Ford Mustang Mach 1

It may sound a bit strange, but if you were to tell most people that you can have a relationship with your car, just as you do with say a dog or person, they probably laugh in your face. Automobile enthusiasts however see things differently, as our cars represent not only our freedom, but our memories. Take your first car for instance. You may not know where it is, or what’s become of it, but I can guarantee you’d like to see it again. One lucky father recently got this chance when his son actually hunted down, and bought back his old Mustang Mach 1. The car was far from perfect, but if you think that mattered to his Dad, well, you’d be dead wrong.

You’re Doing it Wrong: How NOT to do a burnout.

Posted in Best of, Domestic Rides, FAIL, FAIL / Funny, Ford, General, muscle cars, Mustang, Rides by MrAngry | April 16th, 2013 | 2 Responses |

Mustang Fail

For some, mastering the art of the burnout is simple. You simply rev the engine to around 5k, dump the clutch and PRESTO! Tire smoke galore. However trying to perform a brake stand with in a car equipped with a manual transmission can be a bit tricky. Most of the time you simply side-step the clutch and you’re done. However do this incorrectly and shit can go wrong VERY quickly, a lesson that the owner of this late model Mustang found out as he was leaving a local car show. No joke, this is literally painful to watch…
