2013 Dodge Viper GTS

With 640 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque the new 2013 SRT Viper GTS is no doubt one of the baddest mutha f*ckers on the block. It’s got more power, less weight and thanks to a complete redesign, has been civilized to the point where it doesn’t try to kill you every time you get into it. The guys over at Edmunds Inside Line recently got their hands on one of these new snakes and forced it to bare its fangs for the camera. Click through and check it out.

2013 Chrysler 200 Limited Convertible

Thumbs Up: Much better put together than Chrysler convertibles past.

Thumbs Down: Interior is on the bland side, not much fun to drive.

Buy This Car If: You want an affordable, four-passenger convertible.

Chrysler has not always been known for assembling solidly-built four-seat convertibles. Back in the LeBaron convertible days, we literally had rental cars shed interior pieces as we drove. The Sebring convertible was a step in the right direction, since it had less cowl shake than the LeBaron and stayed screwed together throughout every rental car experience we had behind the wheel, though we never really warmed up to its sub-standard ride or interior. 1979 Dodge Little Red Express: BIG MUSCLE

1979 Little Red Express Truck

It’s the Granddaddy of the muscle truck. The original gangster, and the one that broke the mold when it came to straight-line American speed in the late 1970’s. The Little Red Express Truck was a twin-stacked, small block powered pickup truck from Dodge that was you’re worst nightmare if you happened to own a Ferrari 308, Trans Am or Corvette back in 1978 or 1979. Big on style as well as performance, the Little Red’s are some of the rarest and coolest trucks to ever come out of Detroit, and with the power to back up the looks, it’s no wonder they’ve generated a cult following amongst dedicated enthusiasts.

2012 Chrysler 200S Review

PRO’s: Beautifully done interior, wide variety of standard features on the “S” model, sub-30K price, BIG POWER!

CON’s: Wooden brake pedal feel, torque steer.

FINAL THOUGHT: Finally, a great alternative for those looking to breakout of the plain vanilla mold offered up by the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.

As of this count 15,190,702 people have watched the ad that Chrysler released for its new 200 back in February of 2011. It featured Eminem, the broken down city of Detroit and portrayed the Chrysler 200 as some sort of tough, back street bruiser that could have only been built in the motor city. Now while the majority of us simply saw the 200 as a revamped Chrysler Sebring, Chrysler wanted to paint a different picture. This is a new 2012 Chrysler 200S in deep cherry red, and while it’s no back street bruiser, it is a car that surprised the hell out of me in the week that I spent with it.

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4×4: Ridelust Review

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

The Jeep Cherokee has been around in one form or another since 1974. It was the first true mainstream SUV and the vehicle that got Americans hooked on the idea that there were other transportation options then the family station wagon. The big Cherokees of yesteryear roamed the streets until the Wagoneer went out of production in 1991, right around the time the Grand Cherokee came to market. It was smaller, lighter and more in tune with the now growing SUV segment, and since its introduction in 1992 it’s been a runaway hit.

You’re Doing it Wrong: 1987 – A Sad Year for Chrysler

Chrysler 1987

If you were the owner of a Chrysler product built between 1980-1989 then you were pretty much screwed when it came to reliability, quality and or any type of service. Painting issues caused the paint to simply flake off the car in under a years time, while things like interior knobs and switches just came off in your hand. Sure there were decent examples like the OMNI GLHS and Shelby Chargers, but otherwise most of their products were junk. Hell, even Chrysler knew it, just look at their old ad campaign that did anything and everything to pull you away from the car itself. Ugh… so sad.

2012 Chrysler 300C: Ridelust Review

2012 Chrysler 300c

Pro’s: Stunning styling, HEMI V8, amazing electronics package, loads of interior and cargo room.

Con’s: Slightly touchy handling – needs more rubber.

Final Thought: A front engine, rear drive, full-sized sedan that delivers all the performance you could ask for from a sub-50k American luxury car.

This is it. The only remaining full-sized American sedan that has stuck to the formula that made the American auto industry great. It’s the 2012 Chrysler 300C and it’s one hell of an automobile. We’ll get to the specifics later, but understand that if you’re a looking for a 5-passenger, V8 powered, front-engined, rear-drive sedan, then this is the King. Remember, I said FULL SIZE sedan, so don’t get all crazy by throwing out cars like the Cadillac CTS or anything like that. What I love so much about this car is that Chrysler went back to basics with the 300C. I mean this feels like what a large American luxury sedan should feel like (in a good way). It’s big and comfortable with great performance and every luxury amenity you could ask for, plus it’s got a price tag that won’t make you fall over backwards when it comes time to write that monthly check.

The following 3-minute and 30-second video is about muscle cars. It’s got great music, great editing and is also in Spanish, a language that I don’t speak or understand. However if you think that makes this video any less enjoyable, well then… you’d be sorely mistaken. You see muscle cars transcend language, race and political views creating a universal language that every car guy with a pulse can understand. Click through to check it out.
