AMS “MADNESS” – World’s Fastest Hearse

Fast Hearst

Trying to get an early ’90s Chevrolet Caprice wagon to achieve any kind of speed is pretty much an exercise in futility. Grab one that’s been given added weight by transforming it into a hearse though, and well, you’ve really got your work cut out for you. When faced with this dilemma, most enthusiasts would’ve run for the hills. Not the guys at AMS Tuned though, as they not only got their big whale of a wagon to move, but they got it to run 160 mph at the Chicago WannaGoFast 1/2 mile!

eBay Deal of the Week: 1971 Chevrolet Custom C20

If you stop and think about it, there really isn’t anything exciting about a work truck of any make or model. However this 1971 Chevrolet Custom C20 of Ongaro & Sons Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning is a pretty trick piece. The suspension has been upgraded with components from a 1977 1/2 ton C10 which include: the rear end, front control arms with new bushings added, and disc brakes. The truck has been lowered with the following work being done recently: cut front springs, rear flip kit, rear shackle kit, frame C-notched, front and rear shocks, and a shock relocation kit. The rims are 18″ billet aluminum with custom made adapters for stock hubcaps. Granted this truck may not be for everyone, but in my opinion it’s definitely one to take a look at.

2014 Corvette

There is something about hearing John Davis’s voice that warms the cockles of my heart. You see Mr. Davis has been the face of MotorWeek since he created the series back in 1981. His reviews and opinions are honest and when he speaks, those in the motoring world listen. Recently MotorWeek had a chance to take a “Quick Spin” in a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray while out in sunny California and lucky for us, they filmed it!

eBay Deal of the Week: 1966 Corvair Crown Conversion

Posted in Chevrolet, Domestic Rides, eBay Motors, Promoted by MrAngry | October 7th, 2013 | 2 Responses |

Wouldn’t it have been great if the United States had one truly great mid-engine sports car? I mean yes, there was the Ford GT40, Ford GT and of course the Pontiac Fiero (that sucked though), but just imagine if American manufacturers really had their act together and created something awesome. What you are seeing here is a 1966 Corvair Crown V8 conversion. The engine is a 350 cu-in ZZ4 small block with a hydraulic cam and aluminum heads, the interior is in marginal condition at best, and the performance? According to the owner the car is sensational, has plenty of power and drives like a slot car. Check out more pics after the jump or go directly to the eBay Motors ad below. The /DRIVE Network’s BIG MUSCLE recently did an episode on a Crown Corvair that was in a word, awesome. So make sure to check that out as well.

Peace & Quiet : Fast Pants – Tight Cars

Valiant Charger

As I was doing some research on the Australian based Chrysler Valiant Charger, I came upon the short film, Peace & Quiet : Fast Pants – Tight Cars. To be honest it’s quite terrible and it reminds me of the video Sabotage from the Beastie Boys. There is however some kick-ass footage of old Valiant Chargers and classic motorcycles so it’s definitely worth the watch if you’ve got nothing better to do and lots of time to kill. Check it out after the jump.

Ferrari Porsche Chevy

You’ve gotta hand it to the guys over at Motor Trend as they’ve got access to the coolest cars on the planet. Who else can get together a 2014 Ferrari F12, 2014 Corvette C7 and a 2014 Porsche 911 C4S and wring them out at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca with Randy Pobst behind the wheel. There is a V12, a V8 and a flat-6 and yet the lap times are so close it’s ridiculous. This is a good one, so make sure to check it out after the jump.

Forgiato “King Camaro”: FAIL?

King Camaro

Where does one draw the line between customization and poor taste? Is it in the paint job, the wheels or the final package as a whole. The other thing is, how does one decide who has good taste and who doesn’t. I mean it’s totally subjective right? What you are about to see is the Forgiato “King Camaro” and to some it’ll be an outstanding achievement, while to others it will be an abomination. I’m curious to know what you guys think, so please chime in via the comments.

Hobaugh Vette

When did you first realize that you loved cars? Maybe it was the time you caught a glimpse of a Ferrari as you were sitting in the back of your parents minivan. Or maybe it happened after watching your older brother do a burnout in his rusted out Camaro. For owner Brian Hobaugh, his love of cars started thanks to his Dad and a certain 1965 Chevrolet Corvette that’s been in their family for over 30 years.

World’s Greatest Wagon? – /BIG MUSCLE

Caprice Wagon

Sometimes old cars break, it’s just what happens. While some may see this as an inconvenience, the guys at /BIG MUSCLE took it as an opportunity to expand their horizons, take a chance, and venture to a place they rarely frequented – the drag strip. The plan was to film, talk to and get an idea of what racers go through when they run their cars down the 1,320. Everything was going great, until that is, they told them THEY could race. They showed up in their 1992 Chevrolet Caprice wagon, aka, the Battle Wagon, and knew they weren’t going to set any records. What they weren’t prepared for though, was the amount of fun they’d have running one of the slowest vehicles on the planet, at one of the fastest places in Northern California.
