Thunder Hill Crash April 2013

Attending track events can be one of the most exhilarating and exciting things you can do with your car. From novice drivers to experts, nothing says “fun” like wringing out your ride at speed. With speed however comes the chance for danger and in a race track environment there is usually “zero” warning when things are about to go south. The following video was recently shot at Northern California’s Thunderhill Raceway and shows just how unpredictable things can get even when there are experienced drivers behind the wheel.

Camaro Heritage

In light of Chevrolet releasing the new 2014 Camaro Z/28 at this weeks New York International Auto Show, I thought I’d post up a little video that pays homage to the Camaro’s of the past. Covering all five generations, the video is nicely shot and makes us understand why people have been falling in love with these cars for almost 50 years.

1965 Corvette

There’s something special about vintage American iron. Something that can’t be defined or found in cars from other parts of the world. Classic American cars seem to stand for something and carry with them an aura of pride and power. They’re made of strength and steel and unlike imports of a similar vintage, these old sleds are appreciated by just about everyone. On this episode of HemmingsTV, we’re treated to a 1965 “Top Flight” Corvette that’s owned by NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society) member Don Colbeth. Click through and check it out.

Choosing a Pony Car: Camaro, Mustang or Challenger?

Pony Cars

The Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger. Three legendary names that have been back in the automotive fold for quite some time now. They’re all classified as muscle / pony cars, but at days end they couldn’t be more different from each other. The real question though is, which one is right for you. Before we answer this you need to put aside your bias for your favorite brand and ask yourself one simple question – What am I going to use it for? At first the answer may seem simple, but I assure you, the more you think about the question, the more difficult your final decision will be.

eBay Deal of the Week: 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split Window

Posted in Best of, Chevrolet, Corvette, Domestic Rides, eBay Motors, General, Promoted, Rants & Raves, Rides by MrAngry | March 4th, 2013 | Leave a Reply |

1963 Chevrolet Corvette

What we have here is a nice driver quality 1963 Chevrolet Corvette split window coupe. One of the rarest Corvettes ever produced, the split window was available for one model year only. What I like about this ad is that the owner seems to be giving a very fair and honest description of the car. The Ermine white lacquer paint for instance is said to be in nice shape, but does have some cracking and the undercarriage, although clean, is not detailed. Equipped with a numbers matching 327 cu.in. V8, a Borg Warner T-10 4-speed and showing a very nice a red interior, this beautiful coupe is sure to stand out wherever it’s driven. The “buy it now” price is set at $65,000.00 U.S. which seems in line with other ’63 Corvettes on the market. So, if you’re interested you can click through to see a few more pics, or go directly to the eBay link below.

Hot Rod Garage: Diedelson’s Kustom Chevy

1951 Chevy Scraper

Getting the stance right in a custom vehicle can either make it or break it from a visual perspective. Set it too high and it looks like a 4×4, set it too low and you’re dragging oil pans. Diedelson’s Customs in Holland has opted for the latter on their 1951 Chevy Truck and in doing so has created a vehicle that looks like it came out of some B-rated horror flick. It’s old and rusty, but thanks to a front airbag suspension it actually runs pretty good when pushed hard. Is it for everyone? Well no. However if you’re diggin’ on the rusty ole’ airbag look, then this slammed old Chevy may just be the one for you.
