Camaro Heritage

In light of Chevrolet releasing the new 2014 Camaro Z/28 at this weeks New York International Auto Show, I thought I’d post up a little video that pays homage to the Camaro’s of the past. Covering all five generations, the video is nicely shot and makes us understand why people have been falling in love with these cars for almost 50 years.

Pony Cars

The Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger. Three legendary names that have been back in the automotive fold for quite some time now. They’re all classified as muscle / pony cars, but at days end they couldn’t be more different from each other. The real question though is, which one is right for you. Before we answer this you need to put aside your bias for your favorite brand and ask yourself one simple question – What am I going to use it for? At first the answer may seem simple, but I assure you, the more you think about the question, the more difficult your final decision will be.

2013 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE: Best Handling Camaro Ever!

Posted in Best of, Camaro, Chevrolet, Domestic Rides, Educational, General, Rides, Videos by MrAngry | January 8th, 2013 | 1 Response |

2013 Camaro SS 1LE

The Chevrolet Camaro always seems to get a mixed bag when it comes to reviews. Some testers like the car but hate the visibility. Others like the styling but hate the handling. Whatever your take on Chevrolet’s Camaro though one thing is for certain, everyone seems to dislike something about this car. That may be changing though, at least that was my take after watching Motor Trends latest video on the new 2013 Camaro 1LE. Personally, I was never a fan of the Camaro due to its lack luster handling, a sentiment that many bow-tie fans shared. It was always somewhat stale and sedated for a car packing 420 hp. Now it seems that the boys at Chevrolet have listened to their fans, because they’ve taken the stock Camaro SS, fitted it with larger brakes, wheels and tires, as well as a new dual-mode exhaust, and created a car die-hard track enthusiasts will lust after. Check it out after the jump.

JCG Restorations and Customs 1968 Camaro — BIG MUSCLE

JCG Restorations and Customs

Tucked away in a small industrial park in Oxnard, CA sits JCG Restorations & Customs, a moderately sized shop that has built some of the best performing pro-touring cars that we’ve ever driven. Now generally we don’t focus in on shops, however when the owners of three of our best test cars start dropping names, we tend to listen. Originally we descended on JCG to drive Blu Balz, a stunning 1968 Camaro owned by one Karl Dunn. However since Mother Nature decided to water the Earth that day, we put our original plans on hold and got shop owner Cris Gonzalez to give us the in’s and out’s of what it takes to make a stellar pro-touring car.

How NOT to drive your classic Camaro.

Camaro Crash

If you were to restore a classic Chevrolet Camaro built between the years 1967-1969 to stock specifications, you’re most likely looking at between $35,000-$60,000. Change the plan to a full-on pro-touring car though and that price can jump from $60,000 to over $100k extremely quickly. That’s why it pains me so much when I see unnecessary carnage happen to beautiful cars simply because the driver is inexperienced.

eBay Deal of the Week: 1977 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28

Posted in Best of, Camaro, Chevrolet, Domestic Rides, eBay Motors, Promoted, Rants & Raves, Rides by MrAngry | November 19th, 2012 | 1 Response |

1977 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Let’s face it, the Chevrolet Camaro’s built in the late 1970′s didn’t break any new ground as far as performance numbers went. They were big, heavy and came equipped with V8′s that were so choked by smog equipment that you had to ask yourself why GM actually released them in the first place. From a styling perspective I’m actually a bit sweet on these. A long raked hood, short deck-lid with duck-tail spoiler and orange metallic paint helped give the Camaro some high-style. Offered on eBay right now is this fully restored 1977 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 that, according to the seller has completed just 13,000 miles since new. This Z/28 came highly optioned with an automatic transmission, 350 cubic-inch V8, A/C, power windows and door locks, cruise control and an AM/FM stereo. In short, you’d be hard pressed to find one better so click through for more pics or check out the ad below.
