1970BuickGS350_3

This is one of those rare cars that has a reserved spot in my fantasy garage. It’s a 1970 Buick Skylark GS and to me, it’s the perfect example of a gentleman’s muscle car. From the bucket seats, to the beautiful center console with eight-track deck, air conditioning and fully-optioned factory dash, this is a car that I’d probably turn into a daily driver. The one you are viewing here is currently for sale on eBay Motors and looks to be in fantastic condition with 65,000 miles on the clock, AND the original build sheet. These cars are becoming harder and harder to find, so make sure to check out the eBay ad at the link below or click through for more pics.

1965 Buick Riviera

The first generation Buick Riviera that were built between 1963-1965 are some of the most classic and understated designs to ever come out of Detroit. Designed strictly as a four passenger, and originally powered by a 325 hp 401 cu.in. V8, they not only had the power to compete with just about anything in their class, but redefined what the executive muscle car could be. From the beautiful grill to the clam shell headlights on the 1965 model, the Buick Riviera has stood the test of time incredibly well. The following ’65 comes to us from eGarage, and although slightly modified, it fully showcases just how beautiful these cars truly are.

2013 Buick Verano Premium

Thumbs Up: Comfortable ride, quiet cabin

Thumbs Down: Turbo engine and manual transmission, but little entertainment value

Buy This Car If: You prefer to row your own gears, yet want comfort over performance

Buick’s Verano sedan was built to deliver the fuel-sipping advantages of a compact, while serving up more content than buyers in the class are used to. While the Verano was new for the 2012 model year, a turbocharged variant, dubbed the Verano Premium, has been introduced for 2013. Now that GM brand Pontiac is history, the company is hoping that Buick can pick up some of the enthusiast buyers left in the cold by Pontiac’s shuttering. Read More…

Buick Grand National

Back in the mid-1980′s, if you wanted a real muscle car you had but one choice; the Buick Grand Nationals built from 1984-1987. These machines were unconventional to say the least and at first buyers didn’t know what to make of them. You see the Grand National was based on Buick’s mundane Regal sedan, a car that was about as exciting as toast. Then there was the issue of the turbocharged six-cylinder engine as opposed to a rip-snorting V8, a major no-no in the muscle car world. However once enthusiasts got a taste of the Grand National’s performance, they dove in with both feet and in the process made it one of the baddest cars ever to come out of Detroit.

Black Air Buick Grand National

Back in the mid-1980′s the muscle car seen here in the United States was a dismal mess. Cars like the Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang were still around, but they’d gotten fat and lazy in their old age. Then something wonderful happened. In 1985 Buick took their a plain-jane Buick Regal, slapped a turbocharged V6 under the hood, painted it all black and took the automotive world by storm. This was the Buick Grand National and it’s one of the worlds greatest automotive success stories. “Black Air” is the upcoming documentary about this amazing machine and promises to deliver all the goods on the hows, whys and people that brought the Grand National into being. Big Muscle continues its New York adventure with its second installment on the cars of Queens, NY. This week we’re taking a look at a stunning 1967 Buick GS 400 and a highly modified 1969 Dodge Charger. 1968 Coronet RT

Before BIG MUSCLE had its feet planted firmly in West Coast soil, it was stationed here… in beautiful Queens, NY. Now while most people would never think of Queens as a destination spot, believe me when I tell you that in this land of graffiti, window bars and padlocks lies some of the coolest muscle cars that you’re ever likely to see. This is Part I of BIG MUSCLEs two part episode on the “Cars of Queens”. In this episode we take a look at a wicked 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS drop-top and a stunning 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T. Both cars have been updated accordingly in all departments and both cars were conceived to be, at their cores, bad-ass New York street fighters.

2012 Buick LaCrosse eAssist Premium: RideLust Review

2012 Buick LaCrosse eAssist

Thumbs Up: Solidly built, quiet as a tomb

Thumbs Down: Needs more power for highway driving

Buy This Car If: You want a plush midsize sedan that delivers decent fuel economy.

Sometimes, things are glaring in their omission. If you scan the outside sheet metal of the 2012 Buick LaCrosse eAssist, you won’t find a single “hybrid” badge on it. Ditto on the inside, where the only indication that you’re driving something other than a regular Buick is the available battery meter in the information display. Even the window sticker avoids any mention of the word “hybrid,” although if you look carefully you can see the term”eAssist” used in reference to the engine and the associated powertrain warranty.
