2014 Chevrolet Silverado

From stem to stern, the 2014 Chevy Silverado has been redesigned and re-engineered with the goal of becoming the best ½-ton truck on the market. New, more aggressive sheet metal, three new engines for increased power and fuel economy, and a refined interior help make the new 1500 feel as though it’s anything but pickup like. Combine that with a cabin that’s luxury car quiet and you’ve got yourself a truck that was designed specifically to take out its competitors. Understanding the importance of redesigning (not refreshing) a truck like the Silverado is one thing, but pulling it off in a glorious fashion such as this is something entirely different.

Power Wheels

To all you fathers out there – if you have a son or daughter under the age of 6 years old and have yet to buy them a Power Wheels electric car, then you’re doing it wrong. As die-hard car enthusiasts we must do everything we can to ensure that our way of life is secure, and if that means spending some hard earned coin on crappy electric cars for the kids, then so be it! BR High Performance feels this way as well. So much so that they’ve actually taken the liberty to dyno a 2013 Barbie Mustang in the hopes that it will get you excited.

Hell, it worked for me! Check it out after the jump.

eBay Deal of the Week: 1993 Dodge Ramcharger 4×4

Posted in Dodge, Domestic Rides, eBay Motors, Promoted, Rides by MrAngry | June 17th, 2013 | Leave a Reply |

1993DodgeRamcharger_1

Now here’s something you don’t see everyday – a 1993 Dodge Ramcharger 4×4. From the mid-1970′s to the mid-1990′s full sized SUV’s were in charge of the off-road market. Sure there were vehicles like the smaller Jeep Cherokee, but if you wanted a big, bad-ass truck that still had a set of man balls strapped to it, then these were your rides. The Dodge Ramcharger was never as popular as say the Ford Bronco, or Chevy’s K5 Blazer, however for the ones that were sold, these were beautiful looking trucks. This particular truck sports a 5.2L V8 (318), has a 4-speed automatic transmission with O/D and 4WD. It features power steering, power brakes, front and rear trailer hitch, power windows, power locks, newer tires, lift gate, towing package, trailer brakes, ABS, working AC and is finished in red over a tan interior. 1993 also marked the last year that the Ramcharger saw development, which is a shame, since this really is a good looking vehicle.

SRT Body And Soul

If you were to ask the adolescents of today which they’d rather have, a new car or a smartphone, you may be surprised at the answer you’d get. As a kid, I distinctly remember that the only thing I wanted was my drivers license. SRT’s new advertising campaign gives us all, young and old, a little shot in the arm and reminds us that, even though technology is a wonderful thing, it’s nothing if it doesn’t stir the body and soul.

Ridelust Review: 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392

Posted in Car Reviews, Dodge, Domestic, Domestic Review, Domestic Rides, Featured, General, Rides by MrAngry | June 12th, 2013 | 2 Responses |

2013 Challenger SRT8 392

PRO’s: Great power, comfort and size make this a muscle car you can live with everyday.

CON’s: To big to be a great handler, high price, cheapish interior, manual transmission.

FINAL THOUGHT: More of grand tourer than an actual muscle car, the 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 combines big grunt and heritage with all day usability and serious open road prowess.

If you’re into muscle cars then you no doubt know that there are three main contenders in the marketplace. There’s the Ford Mustang, the Chevrolet Camaro and of course, the car you see here, the 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392. Dodge however has taken a little different approach to Challenger than it’s competitors by not trying to make a sports car out of a muscle car, but instead, just making a really good muscle car with great grand touring properties. How do I know this you might ask? Well, in a quest to find out I drove this sucker 1,100 miles in 3 days by running from San Fransisco to Los Angeles and back over a beautiful California weekend.

Forumula Ford

It’s a well known fact that Europe gets some cars that we here in the United States can drool over. Ford does this all the time with cars like the Focus RS, and now with a ridiculous little thing called the Formula Ford EcoBoost. This car is basically a Formula Ford racer (only street legal), with a tuned 1-liter 3-cylinder motor that pumps out over 200 hp and that has the capability to lap the Nurburgring in 7-minutes and 22-seconds.

Europe – I hate you guys. Check it out after the jump

Now here’s something you don’t see everyday, a 1984 Dodge Colt that’s been converted into a street legal bumper car. A fiberglass body covers the Colt’s original 156,550 mile chassis, while the 1.6L Turbo 4-cylinder gets around 34 mpg. It’s also been treated to a new timing belt, water pump and idler pulleys, new a/c compressor and hoses (don’t know why though since it’s got no top), AND two new front tires. There’s also a neat little cockpit cover to protect this little gem from the elements when parked. Check out more pics by clicking through, or go directly to the eBay ad below.

Supercharging a 1978 Chevrolet Monza Spyder!

Chevy Monza

Supercharging an engine is a simple way of introducing more air into the engines combustion chamber. More air means more fuel, and more fuel means more power. Superchargers however are not cheap, so with that the guys over at Roadkill have decided to boost the engine of an ailing 1978 Monza Spyder by using the most unconventional way they known to man – leave blowers.

Shelby GT 500

An automobile dynamometer is a machine that measures the amount of horsepower that a vehicle puts out based on the exertion of force that’s distributed through a mechanical roller. Generally these machines are built into a shop floor somewhere, but there are dynamometers that are in fact, portable. I’ve seen these contraptions at car shows, and while they are quite accurate, they look to be sketchy as hell, something that the owner of this Shelby GT500 found out first hand.
