Mercedes-Benz produced the W108 platform from 1965-1972 and in that time created some of the most stylish luxury sedans and coupes to ever roll on tarmac. Even today, the W108′s are some of the most sought after and collectible cars out there. Some owners however stray away from the stock look and add-on some of their own personal touches. The one you see here for instance runs on 20″ wire wheels and airbags and is, in my opinion, one sweet looking sled. Is it for everyone? Well, no. But you’ve got to admit it’s definitely something that will shake the stodginess out of the numbers matching crowd.

From stem to stern, the 2014 Chevy Silverado has been redesigned and re-engineered with the goal of becoming the best ½-ton truck on the market. New, more aggressive sheet metal, three new engines for increased power and fuel economy, and a refined interior help make the new 1500 feel as though it’s anything but pickup like. Combine that with a cabin that’s luxury car quiet and you’ve got yourself a truck that was designed specifically to take out its competitors. Understanding the importance of redesigning (not refreshing) a truck like the Silverado is one thing, but pulling it off in a glorious fashion such as this is something entirely different.

To all you fathers out there – if you have a son or daughter under the age of 6 years old and have yet to buy them a Power Wheels electric car, then you’re doing it wrong. As die-hard car enthusiasts we must do everything we can to ensure that our way of life is secure, and if that means spending some hard earned coin on crappy electric cars for the kids, then so be it! BR High Performance feels this way as well. So much so that they’ve actually taken the liberty to dyno a 2013 Barbie Mustang in the hopes that it will get you excited.

Now here’s something you don’t see everyday – a 1993 Dodge Ramcharger 4×4. From the mid-1970′s to the mid-1990′s full sized SUV’s were in charge of the off-road market. Sure there were vehicles like the smaller Jeep Cherokee, but if you wanted a big, bad-ass truck that still had a set of man balls strapped to it, then these were your rides. The Dodge Ramcharger was never as popular as say the Ford Bronco, or Chevy’s K5 Blazer, however for the ones that were sold, these were beautiful looking trucks. This particular truck sports a 5.2L V8 (318), has a 4-speed automatic transmission with O/D and 4WD. It features power steering, power brakes, front and rear trailer hitch, power windows, power locks, newer tires, lift gate, towing package, trailer brakes, ABS, working AC and is finished in red over a tan interior. 1993 also marked the last year that the Ramcharger saw development, which is a shame, since this really is a good looking vehicle.

Gabor Mester was a man with a mission. From a young age he was enamored by a certain BMW E30 M3 that lived in the garage of a family friend. On weekends he’d wash it, admire it and on occasion, take it on a drive around the block. Gabor however didn’t just want an E30 M3, he wanted THAT particular M3. You see this was the one he salivated over, the one he yearned for. So, when his family friends decided to sell, he did everything he could to get his hands on it. The end result was one very happy man and a car that is sure to be around for a long, long time.

If you were to ask the adolescents of today which they’d rather have, a new car or a smartphone, you may be surprised at the answer you’d get. As a kid, I distinctly remember that the only thing I wanted was my drivers license. SRT’s new advertising campaign gives us all, young and old, a little shot in the arm and reminds us that, even though technology is a wonderful thing, it’s nothing if it doesn’t stir the body and soul.

A few years ago I ran a Porsche 997 GT3 RS in the One Lap of America. It was an epic car for an epic event and at the time I didn’t think cars could get any better. I do however remember thinking that, as much as I loved the GT3 RS, my only caveat was that it didn’t come with Porsche’s stellar PDK transmission. The new 991 GT3 changes that as not only does it come with a PDK, but it can’t be had with a manual. Now yes, there are some Porsche diehards that are going to drop dead when they hear this, but the fact of the matter is, there is simply no way you can shift or get the most performance out of this car, unless you let technology come along for the ride. Chris Harris recently got to flog the new 991 GT3 around and even he, a man who loves his manuals, understands why Porsche went this route.

Not long ago I had the chance to get behind the wheel of an older Porsche 911. It was an all original 39,000 mile 1989 930 Turbo and it was, in a word, glorious. Porsche’s of this vintage, the 930 Turbo especially, were right on the cusp of melding modern technology with performance. In some regards it was still sketchy as hell to drive, as this was the car that defined the phrase “lift throttle oversteer”. Yet in other ways, it made you connect on a level with the road that you’d never think possible. The more I drove it, the more comfortable I became. I also realized that in order to drive this car fast, you needed skill, confidence and the desire to better yourself as a driver.

Maybe what he should have said was that it will “probably” be accurate to “video game” racing culture, because if he thinks that real track rats / enthusiasts are going to get behind this, he must be smoking crack.

By now we all know that Nissan’s Juke R is one wicked little sonofabitch. I mean what was basically a design and engineering exercise by Nissan has turned out to be one of the quickest (and infamous) little SUVs on the planet. The guys over at Drag Times have managed to not only get a hold of a Juke R, but run it against the speed King himself, the Bugatti Veyron. The results are frighteningly close.
