When the first Porsche was built back in 1948 Dr. Ferdinand Porsche had a very good idea of where he wanted his automobile company to go. He understood all those years ago that because our time on this earth is limited that we must use it wisely. Over the years Porsche has produced some of the most iconic cars ever to be created. The 356, the 911 and even the 928 are all cars that have left their stamp in the pages of automotive history. The key, according to Dr. Porsche is to create something that will live on by reputation long after our physical being has gone. That is what he wanted with Porsche. Some people go through life without ever leaving their mark, Dr. Porsche however was not one of those people. So, what’s your legacy going to be…

Ever Ask: What Does Richard Hammond Think?

Richard Hammond Top Gear

If you’re any type of car guy worth your salt then you know who Richard Hammond is. I could go on about how he is one of the hosts of Top Gear, the greatest automotive show ever created, or how he is a rabid muscle car nut who loves vintage American iron. I think however that in this instance I’m just going to tell you about his top 10 favorite muscle cars. As most of you know America’s muscle cars were produced from 1964 to 1973. Back then the manufacturers had a very simple formula. Take a nice mid-size sedan and stuff in the biggest, baddest and most powerful engine you could to create a tire shredding beast that all others would fear. It was a simple concept really and one that until recently was all but lost in the American auto industry. The Hamster though, he’s decided to take us back in time by providing us with a list of his top ten favorites.

Most people know Danny Trejo from such movies as Heat and From Dusk Till Dawn. Trejo is a character actor, and a damn good one, but it hasn’t been until now that he’s landed the lead in his own movie, Machete. When Machete premiered back on August 25th, Trejo who is heavily involved in the Los Angeles lowrider seen invited a bunch of his buddies to come as well and bring with them some old iron. In fact the entire cast saw fit to ditch the conventional Hollywood limo’s and instead roll heavy in some of the most beautiful lowriders that L.A. had to offer. Machete was directed by Robert Rodriguez and co-starred Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez, Lindsay Lohan, Cheech Marin, Jeff Fahey, Don Johnson and Steven Seagal.

We all know how the MTV reality show Jersey Shore has popularized the crap out of the New Jersey Guido. Sure it’s a fun place to go and hang out and to people watch there is probably no better place on earth. The guys and gals that populate this area of the stinky state show up around June 1st and don’t leave until the end of the Labor Day weekend. One aspect of the Jersey shore that some people fail to take into consideration are the cars in which these wonderful individuals showcase themselves in. Just like Los Angeles the Jersey shore is all about show and bling. Sure, most of the beach and club goers live at home in their parents basement in real life, but once the sun comes out it’s all about rolling heavy and showing off. Here is a listing of some of the Jersey Shore’s rolling hardware.

2011 Ford Mustang GT: RideLust Review

2011 Ford Mustang GT

The 2011 Ford Mustang GT; return of the 5.0.

Thumbs Up: Finally, a Mustang GT that’s good enough for track days, even bone stock

Thumbs Down: Interior of base GT is bland, cloth seats aren’t comfortable

Buy This Car If: You want a muscle car and sports car rolled into one

I’ll admit it: I’ve always liked Mustang GTs, since back in the day when the Fox bodied GTs were available as rentals from Hertz. They were fun cars to flog on a road trip, particularly if that road trip involved the sparsely populated roads of the American Southwest. They were amusing, but only for short periods of time. I was a sports car guy, after all, and flogging a Mustang around a road course just seemed wrong, like using a garden shears to cut hair. Even if it gets the job done, it isn’t going to be pretty.

2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 vs 2011 BMW M3

Posted in BMW, Ford, General, Mustang, Popular Cars by MrAngry | August 24th, 2010 | 3 Responses |

You might think that pitting the 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 against the 2011 BMW M3 is like bringing a knife to a gunfight, but oh how wrong you would be. The above review was conducted by Motor Trend Magazine and what I like about it is that it’s a no holds barred performance based shootout. I’ve driven the new 5.0 Mustang GT so I know first hand how good the car really is, the key however is convincing everyone else. Yes, the interior is not as luxurious as that of the M3 and yes it doesn’t say BMW on it, but from a performance standpoint, who the hell cares?

2008 Lamborghini Estoque

The four door coupe craze has been in full effect now for quite some time. We’ve got the Mercedes_Benz CLS, the Porsche Panamera, the new Audi A7 and the stunning Aston Martin Rapide. From a marketing standpoint these cars make perfect sense as they offer the best of both worlds for the enthusiast who wants all the performance of a modern super car, but needs the versatility of a back seat. These automobiles are beginning to garner quite a fan base and while they will never be a full replacement for a full-on two door super car, I have to say that they are coming awfully close.
