One of the best known auto-tuners from Japan, Tommy Kaira, who has modified cars such as Nissans Skyline, has unveiled their newest package for the Nissan GT-R. Tommy Kaira cars have appeared in numerous racing video games including the Gran Turismo series. Their latest project for the Nissan GT-R is called the Silver Wolf. Now whats different about the Silver Wolf compared to almost every other Tommy Kaira tune kit is that the engine is not touched. It was released by officials at Nissan when the GT-R was first released that the engine performace could not be improved anymore, any modifications would only reduce its supercar ability. What the Silver Wolf does include is a new carbon fiber widebody kit, and a custom interior with Tommy Kaira logos, along with new wheels, exhaust, brakes and suspension. Although no changes to the engine are going to be made, it is expected that the new suspension and a new exhaust will add a few horsepower to the 480 horsepower engine, as almost every Tommy Kaira packages brings out that extra little performacne that any speed junky would be looking for. If you are interested in getting the full Tommy Kaira Silver Wolf edition, just remember the body kit alone will run you $18,000, plus the GT-R’s $80,000 price tag. However, if you want to see Godzilla breathe fire, the Silver Wolf is what you are looking for.

For fans of working-class superhero sportscars like the all-conquering Nissan GT-R, you can rest assured that Nissan isn’t going to rest on its laurels or let the current recession kill their plans to replace the current R35 model. They’re already hard at work on the next model, the R36, according to Nissan’s VP of global product planning Andy Palmer. They’re pegging the product cycle’s length to that of it’s arch-nemesis (on the ‘Ring, at least), the Porsche 911.

With prices at the pump still high, turbocharged four and six cylinder engines are quickly becoming a viable performance alternative to fuel-chugging V8’s. So East Texas Muscle Cars came up with an ambitious plan:
Tune a streetable 2010 V6 Mustang to lap the Nurburgring Nordschliefe faster than the Nissan GT-R.
“We wanted to do something a little different,” says company spokesman Mike White. “We’re seeing a lot of interest in something like this for the V6 Camaros.”

The R35 Nissan Skyline GT-R has spent more time careening loose and mean around the Nürburgring than just about any car over the past two years. As a result of such consistent corporate sponsored hoonery the brute currently holds a hotly debated production car lap-time record. This did not go unnoticed by officials at the legendary Green Hell.
Recently, between a second helping of wursts and a sixth helping of weissbier, the Big-Heads at the ‘Ring picked the R35 Nissan Skyline GT-R to fill in as the new, official Nürburgring rapid response rescue vehicle — much cooler than the old Skoda Octavia wagons I saw plowing headlong around the track when I was there two summers ago.

So what do we mean by “coolest” trim badges? Well, we figure there are two criteria for a badge being cool – either it looks really cool aesthetically, or it sends a message to the unwitting fool behind you that you’re capable of smoking him off the line quicker than Cheech and Chong can get through an ounce of Thai Stick. Click through to see what we consider the 10 worthiest badges of all time to be. And if you manage to stick all of these badges together on some poor car (only if you have permission!), send us a picture and I’ll make my boss send you a prize.

As an on-the-go parent, one must have a vehicle that provides flexibility, performance and value. But what happens when the little league playoffs fall on the same weekend as the D1 GP? The tuners at Kids Heart of Japan have a solution for you. This one-off GT-R wagon is sure to turn a few heads (and possibly some stomachs) at the car pool. I know what you’re thinking. Is it a GT-R turned wagon or a wagon turned GT-R? Some things are best left after the jump.

STILLEN Nissan GT-R
There are certain names in the racing world that are inextricably attached to specific cars and automakers. Shelby and the Mustang. Roush and Ford. Fellows and Corvette. For Nissan, that name is IMSA racing legend Steve Millen. Most notable in Millen’s racing resume are two IMSA GT Driver’s Championships in ‘92 and ‘94. Drawing upon this background racing Nissans, his company is now producing a number of aftermarket parts for the Nissan’s newest racing muse, the GT-R. Don’t worry. Unlike many of the myriad other products that have cropped up for the beast that is the GT-R, these don’t suck.

Cobra N+ 370Z
Forget the GT-R, the most exciting car in the stable at Nissan may be the new 370Z. The newly revised sports car has been getting all sorts of love from critics, tapped for possible hybrid duties in the near future, and now German tuner company Cobra N+ is offering a host of upgrades that, at least on the surface, put the Nismo Z to shame.

Video of Nissan’s latest GT-R hot lap have cropped up on the internet. The time? A very impressive 7 minutes and 26.7 seconds. Don’t cream your jeans yet, Nissan fan-boys, the Corvette ZR-1 still wears the pants at the house of Eifel with a 7 minute 26.4 second lap time. The blokes at Porsche, who announced a 7 minute 40 second lap time in the 2010 997 GT3 yesterday, are still claiming Nissan is bluffing and can’t net a faster time than 7 minutes and 54 seconds. Clash of the axis titans!

How do you feel about heavily boosted J-tin cruising from apex to apex in full-on opposite-lock four-wheel-drift? If you’re anything like us, you are sort of transfixed. You don’t even have to like drifting to appreciate the cars and the extreme skill needed to whip them around a track not just adequately, but with style too. There are a lot of specialist sites catering to very specific car fetishes (brown Lincoln Continentals? Rolled-over donks?), but Noriyaro is where I go to get my JDM drift fix. If you don’t like the idea of 1,000 HP Supras banging against the rev limiter, then best not jump over to his site.
