Muscle Cars at the Mansion is a yearly event where 40 or so of the coolest hot-rods, muscle cars and motorcycles gather for charity at the world famous Playboy Mansion. This year we were lucky enough to get an invite and with that a chance to cross off another item on the ole’ automotive bucket list. We brought our 1969 Dodge Daytona tribute car to display, and thankfully the big black beastie was pretty well received. Understand that this is not some backyard car show, but a gathering of some of the coolest cars on the planet. As for the Playboy bunnies… well, there was no shortage of them either. The Mansion was everything I expected. From the dark hidden paths that led to the game room, boom-boom rooms and zoo to the dim lighting of the fabled grotto, this place had it all. It also must have been an absolute riot back in its heyday. Here are some pics to give you an idea of how the night went down…

Here’s the deal: take former IndyCar driver Roger Yasukawa, give him a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and have him turn the best time possible at Willow Springs. Next, take smoking hot Alicia Whitten, give her a Mitsubishi Evo X SE, and see if she can beat Roger’s lap time in the Outlander. Any guesses as to who wins this battle?

In terms of the faster lap, it’s Roger Yasukawa, but you already knew that. In terms of the overall win, it’s Alicia Whitten, but you probably knew that also. Just to reward your diligence for clicking through, here’s another pic of Alicia to enjoy:

What better way to shoot the new retro Harley-Davidson Forty Eight than with a pack of roller derby girls? There’s probably a lot of better ways, but that’s besides the point. Our neighbors to the north have a different perspective on things, and who are we to question them? Blame it on the poutine and long winters.

Jim Croce summed it up best when describing a roller derby queen: “She was built like a ‘fridgerator with a head”. I wouldn’t call any of the girls in this video “fragile”, but sometimes you want a woman who can go the distance. The Forty Eight, which really should be the focus of the video (but isn’t), looks too small for some of the women in the pack. I wouldn’t tell them that, though, since I’ve grown rather fond of an unbroken nose and both testicles.

I like the looks of the new Forty Eight, with its big tires, wire wheels, straight (looking) pipes, bobbed fenders and solo seat. It’s not a functional bike, since the 1.2 gallon peanut tank won’t get you very far, but it looks good sitting still. I’d like it more with the bigger motor, but I suppose the 1200 Sportster mill will get it down the road well enough. Is it for me? No, I’ll take a pass. Then again, I don’t like roller derby, poutine or cold winters, either.

Let’s face it, standing with a sign in your hand in the hot sun can be dangerous, especially when your daily caloric intake consists of a Red Bull, two stalks of celery and a piece of lettuce (without dressing, since that’s for fatties). This grid girl, working an ADAC GT Masters race, found out the hard way that locking your knees isn’t a good idea, either.

The driver, Ronald van de Laar, repeatedly asks his crew member to check the car after the grid girl falls on it. I’d like to think that I’d show a bit more compassion, perhaps making sure the girl is still breathing before I worry about the car. I guess van de Laar is more focused than I was, which is why he races cars for a living and I don’t.

Martina Ivezaj, proving that sometimes 'mistuning' can be a good thing.

Tuning World Bodensee has released images of the contestants for the 2010 Miss Tuning crown, currently belonging to Martina Ivezaj, pictured above. The winner will be announced during the 2010 Tuning World Bodensee event, scheduled for May 13 to 16. Knowing the Germans, I’m sure the contestants have to do something other than look good in a bikini. I’m not sure if there are hands-free bratwurst eating contests, but if not, there should be.

In addition to fame and fortune (and lots of pics on the internet), the winner gets a yet-to-be-identified “sports car” and will be in a photo shoot “somewhere in the U.S. Great Lakes”. Which of course makes me wonder if the runner up gets TWO trips to the Great Lakes.

OK, I don’t really know if the women in these pictures are hookers. Let’s call them “models with an affinity for cash” instead. Do you remember the Dartz Prombron? It was the Russian built uber-luxury SUV that allowed buyers to check the option box for whale-penis leather. They’re back for another go-around, this time touting the Red Diamond Edition of the Prombron.

Since I know you’re eager to pony up a downpayment on the truck’s $1.3 million asking price (it DOES have a tungsten exhaust and gem encrusted gauges, after all), I’m including lots of pictures below. In the interest of journalistic integrity, however, I will not publish the shot of the hooker model straddling the cannon shell, since it’s got nothing to do with the Dartz Prombron Red Diamond Edition. We have our standards, you see.

The step in height is fine, even for those in a minidress and spike heels.

It’s almost auto show season, and in celebration we’d like to take this time to honor one of the greatest accessories ever invented for the modern automobile: the Auto Show Girl. From Paris to Tokyo to Detroit, the girls of the auto show are undeniably hot and definitely deserve a salute for standing for hours at a time in 4 inch heels, smiling incessantly in the face of open-mouthed guys fumbling for their camera phones.

So here’s to you ladies [especially to the woman in the 4th picture down after the jump whom our sources indicate stumbled across this photo from an event she worked and was surprised to find that it had been filed by the event sponsor under "dumb blonde and red Ferrari". Although we have no idea who she is, we're almost positive she'd like to instruct whoever tagged the photo to "Suck it hard, jackass," -ahem- or something to that effect...].

I was doing a little bit of browsing on eBay motors today (I wasn’t joking when I said it’s highly addicting) and I came across the photo pictured above of a 2002 BMW M3. The girls in the picture made me laugh, especially the one on the left who appears to be absolutely enraptured with the BMW logo. 

The picture reminded me of a few pretty sizable misconceptions that men who drive luxury and/or sports cars have. So, as an import car model myself, and a girl who is admittedly attracted to hot cars (ipso facto the guys that drive them), there are a few myths I’d like to debunk for the sports car enthusiast population (read: guys).

Myth #1: You Have a Hot Car, You Will Attract Hot Girls

This is actually only partially a myth inasmuch if you have a hot car, you probably will attract hot girls – the real “myth” is that you’ll keep them interested. See a hot car is the bait, your knowledge of the car is what’ll reel them in. If a girl asks ”What kind of pound-per-weight ratio does this bad boy have?” or “So where does this thing redline at?” YOU NEED TO KNOW THE ANSWER. There is no bigger turn-off than a guy with a sick ride who doesn’t know jackshit about it.

Myth #2: Corvette’s Are Fail-Proof Chick Magnets

If you are over 40, the only thing your Corvette will communicate – even if it’s an absolutely babied Z06 – is: “I am single with waning sexual function.” I know that sounds harsh, but seriously, that is the conclusion girls, especially auto show/model girls, tend to draw.

Myth #3: Ferrari’s Are Fail-Proof Chick Magnets

With most girls, most Italian cars in general are iffy-territory simply becase there appears to be a rather sizable number of men who drive them that would prefer a “Steven” over a “Stephanie”, if you catch my drift.

Myth #4: The More Expensive The Car, The Better

Having a lust-able ride does not necessarily mean dropping more than the gross national product of some countries to get it. I mean yeah, a Porsche Carrera GT is pretty damn impressive, but so is a fully-restored 1971 Chevrolet El Camino. It’s all about the devotion.

The same rules that apply to cars also apply to motorcycles, although I will admit outright that any guy on a Ducati Monster makes me weak in the knees.
