Remember the Smart car, that little bugger of a city car that was all the rage here in the U.S. a couple of years ago. When the Smart Fortwo first came out in the States people went nuts over them. However once consumers realized that they weren’t really fit for the American lifestyle, sales of the Smart dwindled rapidly. Well now they’re back and pimping out their newest Smart car, the Smart Fortwo Electric. They seem extremely proud that it’s got great acceleration for the first 6-feet. My question though is, what happens after that?

I don’t think there is a car enthusiast alive that hasn’t tried to emulate the sounds of an automobile with their mouth. You would think that since we’ve been making these sounds since childhood, that by the time we’d hit adulthood we’d be professionals. Unfortunately though, that is simply not the case, except however for one very lucky individual. This is Daniel, and he recently appeared on Australia’s Got Talent where he not only wowed the judges, but the audience as well.

Back in the early 1990′s a buddy of mine used to have a Suzuki Swift GT. It was a little pocket rocket of a car that looked like an egg but performed like a chicken on fire. It was squat, nimble and an absolute hoot to drive. However at days end, it was a Suzuki which meant it simply didn’t garner much respect amoungst the automotive community. It’s now 20 years later and by the looks of it Suzuki is still trying to get respect. The add is good, the car looks fun, but for some reason I’m highly doubting it has the gusto to get your ladies juices flowing like the ad suggests.

Sometimes when you live in the middle of nowhere you simply have to invent your own good time. Therefore it’s not surprising that a couple of Southern California boys did just this down in the Salton Sea, CA. Their idea was simple; build a solid frame go-kart out of steel tubing, install some surplus track wheels, a 5 hp Honda motor, and then run it (with beers in hand) down some abandoned rail lines. To some this may seem like a monumental waste of time, to others though (us included) this would be right up our alley.

If you’ve ever wanted to know how to ruin your car with one simple modification, then look no further. What you are witnessing are two Chevrolet Camaro’s that have been modded with 32-inch rims. On the plus side they now have more ground clearance then most 4×4′s, but on the downside I doubt their local Chevrolet dealership is going to honor their 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.

Scaring the ever-loving crap out of your wife is generally not a good idea. However that doesn’t stop dopey husbands the world over from trying to do so. This is João Barbosa, one of the drivers that competes in the Rolex Sports Car Series. For some reason he thought it might be a good idea to take his wife on a white-knuckle ride around Daytona Speedway at 185 mph. He was just fine, his wife however… not so much.

Falling off is pretty much guaranteed if you decide to throw a leg over a motorcycle. I mean sure, it may not happen immediately, but rest assured that eventually the pavement is going to get you. Now while most of us out there try to keep this from happening there are those who feel the need to expedite the process. The above rider is one such individual. Make sure to listen for the “THUNK” when his head bounces off the concrete.

Even though riding a motorcycle can be one of the most rewarding things you can do, it doesn’t come without danger. Here in California its actually legal for a motorcyclist to split lanes as long as it’s done safely. That doesn’t mean however that all motorists agree with this law. You see having a bike buzz just inches from your rear view mirror when you’re not expecting it can absolutely startle the bejeezus out of you. Sometimes the motorists will just shrug it off, yet other times they go for blood as was the case with this road rage incident in Brazil. Click through for the video.

It would be foolish of me to bitch about the weather out here in Northern California. However I’ve got to admit that seeing these cars drift around on a frozen lake does look awfully enticing. Watching this video takes me back to the days when we’d violate the local mall parking lot in my buddies 1979 Pontiac Bonneville. It was long, heavy and rear-wheel drive and would slide like no other car I’ve ever driven. In short, it was awesome. Sure these guys have about 25 years of technology on the old Bonne’, but that wouldn’t stop me from going up against them in a heartbeat.
