There’s just something about getting your ass handed to you by a Honda Civic wagon that has to make you feel about 2-inches tall. I mean by now it’s no surprise that a well tuned import has the ability to put the hurt on just about anything, but that doesn’t mean we have to like it. This Corvette owner for instance must have been somewhat shocked when this cloud blue wagon blitzed him off the line, then made him really work to stay with him. Personally, I think it’s hilarious, but hey, I’m not the guy driving the Corvette.

For those of you living under a box, let me introduce you to Chad Vader, the day-shift manager at the Empire Market supermarket. Chad originally showed his face on Youtube back in 2006 and since then he’s been racking up hordes of fans on a daily basis. Generally his day consists of trying to dominate other food retailers in the area, keeping customers in line and throwing his Empire style attitude around, but when Chad gets a call from Champion J. Pepper and a chance to drive the greatest car in television history, well, he simply can’t resist.

The North American Redneck (N.A.R.) is a marvelous creature that possesses a set of backyard skills that few others can only dream of. Generally you’ll find these beings hanging around garages, junkyards and or any manner of institution where broken down and out-of-date vehicles can be found. In fact I’m almost certain that the N.A.R. was the inspiration for the T.V. series MacGyver, as they truly are masters of backyard machinery. Wouldn’t it be great if we could all fly like Superman? We’d wake up in the morning, have our coffee and then hit the open skies for our daily commute. Since the beginning of time man has been trying to figure out ways to take to the sky. We’ve invented planes, hang gliders and helicopters (along with a few other things) all with the purpose of getting us off the ground. Thus far it’s been a great ride, however there are those individuals that while able to go up easily enough, have yet to figure out the correct way to come down…

A few years ago American auto manufacturers were all gung-ho on producing crazy muscle-trucks for the performance truck enthusiast. There was the Dodge Ram SRT-10 with a 510 hp V10 mill, the Chevrolet Silverado SS with a 345 hp V8, and finally the Ford SVT Lightning with it’s wicked cool side-exit exhaust and supercharged 340 hp V8. These were not work trucks mind you, however if you wanted to haul some serious ass, then either one of them would’ve fit the bill just fine. As good as they all were on the road though, these titans of high-speed hauling were just plain awful when the tarmac ended. They were all two-wheel drive, had performance based suspension systems and, at days end, came shod with low-profile tires on larger wheels. My following question then is simple; why the hell did this bonehead enter his Ford SVT Lightning in a full-on truck pull? Hell, even the event announcer seems to be confused. I mean I understand that you want to have fun, but Jesus, at least bring the right tool for the job…

I don’t think there is one adult amongst us that ever really wants to grow up. I mean really, what’s the point? We start off as kids with no money or freedom and then, if we’re lucky, we grow to adulthood and take on mass responsibilities that totally mess-up what we always tried to accomplish as kids. That being, to have fun. Now granted you can have fun as an adult, but it’s hard to recreate the same levels of excitement that one had experienced as a small child. There are however a few exceptions out there. This is Joe Ciaglia and to relive his childhood he’s created the largest functional skateboard in the world. It’s not easy to operate, nor is it overly safe, but rest assured that when he sets foot on it, he’s transported back in time to when he was an 11-year old boy.

If you’ve ever been to any type of urban city then you know that parallel parking is a talent that you must possess. For some people parallel parking comes easy, but for others it’s as frightening an experience as public speaking. There are those however who have seen fit to forgo parallel parking from a traditional standpoint and instead, utilize their own unique methods. The driver of this Nissan GT-R for example has not only found a way to get their car into a tight spot, but they do it with a flare that few drivers will ever know.

Now wouldn’t it be great if all parking could be done like this?

When I was a kid there used to be this amusement park in New Jersey called “Action Park” that had all manner of rides that had a high probability of messing you up physically. There was a water slide with a 9-story vertical drop, the water sled that was set up on industrial rollers that could literally rip your fingers off (good times), and finally, there was the Alpine Slide. This was a contraption whereby you’d place your ass in a wheeled sled with a hand brake and then launch yourself down the side of a mountain through a concrete shoot. You’d make it down without incident about 85% of the time, the other 15% though… that was all road rash baby. I recently came across this other ride that had a similar look and feel, however one thing was different. No concrete, no barriers and at days end, absolutely no room for error. It’s no secret that Robbie Gordon is one helluva driver. He’s run NASCAR, Baja, IMSA as well as just about every other series out there. On his off-time though he also likes to, get this… play with cars, or in this case a Jeep. The Smoking Tire recently posted some footage of Robbie piloting a new 2012 Jeep SRT8 on the Bullrun Rally that ran earlier this year. Robbie had three friends in tow who were, for the most part, pretty composed, until that is, Robbie pushed the go-pedal to the floor.
