eBay Deal of the Week: 1975 BMW 2002

1975BMW2002_5

Whether you know it or not, the BMW 2002 is one of the most important little cars ever imported into the United States. As one of the first true sports sedans on the market, it showed consumers that you could indeed have fun while hauling 4 passengers in comfort. This 1975 model is up for sale on eBay and I’ve got to say it’s one trick little machine. Clad in slick black paint with an updated 170 HP 2.4L four-cylinder engine, dual 45 DCOE Weber carburetors, and BBS style wheels wearing Kumho 215 45 ZR16 tires, this 2002 has you covered in the performance department. The interior will not disappoint either with such upgrades as Porsche Recaro seats with netted headrests and a McIntosh head unit with 4×6 Infinity speakers. The bidding ends in 5 days so make sure to click through to check out more pics, or click here to go directly to the auction.

On this week’s Fast Lane Daily episode I once again had the pleasure of sitting down with Alex Roy, J.F. Musial and Leo Parente to discuss how the technology from auto racing has, over time, trickled down into the production automobiles that we know and love today. We talked about everything from movable exterior body panels to KERS and everything in between. Although we did manage to leave out tire technology… oh well, go figure. Click through for the video and enjoy. Read More…
