2012 Chevrolet Sonic LTZ: RideLust Review
Remember when I talked about how old cars will always be cool? Well, here’s another perfect example of that. This is a 1974 BMW 2002 that has gone through a full restoration that not only includes performance upgrades but visual enhancements as well. Gone is the original 2.0-liter inline-4 and in its place sits a 70 thousand mile M20 6-cylinder that makes about 168 hp. The engine is backed by a Getrag 245 series 5-speed transmission out of a Euro-spec BMW 323. Just about every mechanical part on the car has either been replaced or modified with better equipment to create the beauty you see here. The suspension for example has been completely redone with Bilstein sport shocks, New Ireland Engineering stage 2 springs and bigger sway bars. Brakes are 4-wheel discs that utilize Wilwood Superlite Calipers, Wilwood bias valve and the master cylinder from a 7-series. As for wheels, those are 15×7 BBS RZ’s and honestly, they look stellar on this car.
