You’re Doing it Wrong: F-Body Custom.

At some point I think that we’ve all felt that we possess the talent to design our own car. Some of us truly have that ability, while others, like this guy, obviously don’t. What people sometimes fail to understand is that automakers spend millions upon millions of dollars to create automobiles that are not only pleasing to look at, but perform as well. There are those however who still feel the need to push the boundaries of amateur design in the hopes that they stumble upon a diamond in the rough. What you are seeing here though is a piece of coal that should have been tossed into a furnace as opposed to a nice shiny diamond.

Fast Attack AG presents “The ONE”.

The One by Fat Attack

Truth be told I’m not a huge Harley-Davidson fan as I always thought of them more as rolling couches, then I did actual motorcycles. It’s not a slight on the brand in any way, it’s just that I like my bikes to be a little more performance oriented. There are however those bikes out there that make me question my feelings towards the brand. Take this amazing creation from Swiss bike builder Fast Attack AG for instance. Dubbed “The ONE”, this beautiful machine was the brain child of Fast Attack’s head honcho Urs Erbacher, and was built to showcase their stellar craftsmanship. One look at this machine will tell you that it was built to not only turn heads, but to perform as well.

Awesome Front End Conversions

I was over at Autoholics.com when I spied this crazy Nissan 240sx with the front end of a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am grafted onto it. Granted this is not my personal taste, but it got me thinking about what other front end conversions have been done. Through the years I’ve seen a lot of GM and Ford conversions, but with the crazy amounts of imports roaming the streets I just figured, what the hell… they’ve got to be out there. Enter VWVortex.com, one of the coolest forums around and home to some really funky rides. After a quick bit of searching I came up with 7 wild front end conversions that are sure to make you do a double take.

Amazing 1969 Coke Bottle Charger on Ebay.

Coke Bottle Charger

The Dodge Chargers built from 1968-1970 are considered to be some of the most beautiful cars ever to come out of Detroit. They’re muscular, aggressive and with that classic coke bottle shape draw crowds where ever they go. Artist Steve Stanley created this amazing one-off 1969 Dodge Charger in an attempt to pay homage to what is considered, the one true American soft drink. Coca-Cola has always used art to express their visions of what true Americana is. Artists like Andy Warhol, Norman Rockwell and Haddon Sundblom have all created works using the soft drink as a basis for some of their pieces.

Ridelust Oddball: 1980 Mercedes-Benz 426SL

1980 Mercedes Benz 380SL

Over the years I’ve seen a lot of strange engine swaps. I’ve seen a Chrysler slant-six in an old Fiat, a BMW diesel in a 1966 Ford Thunderbird and even a Chevy LS3 V8 shoehorned into an MG Midget. The one you see above however has to be one of the more interesting ones I’ve come across. What we have here is likely the result of a bet that occurred between two buddies on a drunken Friday night. This is a 1980 Mercedes-Benz 380SL convertible, or at least it was until someone decided to stuff a big Chrysler 426 HEMI into it. Apparently the original 3.8-liter 218 hp V8 wasn’t enough to motivate this little roadster along, thus the need for the big elephant.

Ferrari redesigns Santa’s sleigh.

Posted in Concept Cars, Custom, Ferrari by MrAngry | December 17th, 2010 | 1 Response |

It seems that if you’re rich enough or have some celebrity status that getting to the right people in car companies is not that big of an issue. Jay Leno for example can always get to the front of the line when it comes to GM, as can Jerry Seinfeld when it comes to Porsche. What if however you want to access what is probably the worlds most famous automaker – Ferrari. Well if your name happens to be Santa Claus, then hell, you’ve got no problem. For 2011 the design team in Maranello has seen fit to give the fat mans sleigh an overhaul and in doing so have ditched the reindeer component entirely. The new sleigh is low-slung with a fighter-jet style cockpit and beautifully sculpted skies. Ferrari has yet to release any suspension or propulsion specs, but we’re figuring that they should be good as it’s going to take more than milk and cookies to get Father Christmas off the ground. Now, while I love the concept, I do have to ask one question… where the hell do the toys go? Seriously, this sucker has no interior storage whatsoever which could pose a big problem for the big man come Christmas Eve.

Double Trouble Hot Rod

Sometimes you just get an idea in your head and come hell or high water you’re going to execute it. The idea may not be well thought out and it may not even be practical, but at the end of the day what great things ever came from playing it safe. Take this wicked 1927 Ford Model T Roadster for example, it was built by Gordon Tronson of Henderson, Nevada in an unbelievably quick 6-month time period. Tronson is originally from New Zealand and has a history of building and racing funny cars, so when the idea for Double-Trouble popped into his head one day, he knew he just had to build it.

Super Sleeper: 1979 Chevrolet Malibu w/LS1 V8

Posted in Chevrolet, Cool Stuff, Custom, eBay Motors, GM, Pro-Touring by MrAngry | December 14th, 2010 | 4 Responses |

There are times in a car enthusiasts life when the thought of owning a sleeper car becomes an appealing thing. Take this granny-tastic 1979 Chevrolet Malibu for example. It’s got all the right components to take the unsuspecting eye on a slow ride to sleepy town. Beige paint – check, 15-inch wire wheel covers – check, half-vinyl top… DOUBLE CHECK! Ordinarily a car like this would never even trip the radar, however this little dandy is packing a secret that would throw off even the most well trained eye. You see it’s packing a 400 hp LS1 V8 out of a 2005-2006 Pontiac GTO, which makes this car AWESOME!

Jay Leno and the Jaguar CX-75 Concept Car.

Posted in Celebrity Cars, Concept Cars, Conversion Kits, Custom, Environment, Exotic Cars, Jaguar, Videos by MrAngry | December 11th, 2010 | 3 Responses |

As automotive journalists being able to obtain press cars is a definite perk of the job, but Jay Leno is on an entirely different level. Obviously we’ve shown segments of Jay Leno’s Garage on here before, and for good reason… Jay gets his hands on EVERYTHING. Take this beautiful Jaguar CX-75 concept car that was recently the talk of the 2010 Paris Auto Show. What makes the CX-75 concept so special is that it is powered by two jet turbines, which in turn power electric motors, making it an extended range super car. This car was never intended to see production, but instead built to pay homage to 75 years of Jaguar heritage and showcase their existing technology. Personally, I think it’s kinda’ cool in a futuristic Jetson’s kinda’ way, and who knows, we may just be looking at the future of automobiles.

Camaro on 26′s: So… whatcha’ think?

Posted in Camaro, Chevrolet, Custom, Videos by MrAngry | December 10th, 2010 | 4 Responses |

When I first saw this video I was ready to verbally destroy this thing, but then after watching for a few moments I stopped myself. The owner of this car is Youtube member BEEFYCHEVY and while the car is totally not my taste, I have to respect the fact that this guy is no different than any other hot rodder out there. Every hot rodder has their own idea of what their perfect car is. They customize it to fit their tastes, and their tastes alone and for the most part, could care less what others say about it. When this car was built back in 1992 it came stock with 16-inch wheels all around, wheels that are tiny by today’s standards. This Camaro is now rolling on 26-inch wheels, which means that this kid did some pretty hefty modifications under this thing to get them to fit. He also seems pretty knowledgeable when it comes to the car itself. Now, I have no idea about the quality of the work on this car, but I do have to shoot this kid some props for doing his own thing.
