Take two long swing-arm sport bikes, add a couple of really good riders and a Ford Mustang drift car painted up in Police livery and you’ve just developed the recipe for one helluva short moto-movie. The following film was produced by Icon Motorsports and features riders Nick Brocha and Ernie Vigil on a wicked pair of Triumph Speed Triples. Modified to roll sideways at full tilt, these two bikes are sure to be the catalyst as the sport of drifting heads from 4-wheels to two. That is of course unless they get caught by officer Dan Brockett in his 550 horsepower Ford Mustang Cobra. Click through for the video and enjoy.

There’s just nothing quite like the sound of thundering V8′s ripping around a race track. Sure turbo-4′s and well-tuned V6′s sound ok, but bang for the buck, gimme a horsepower thumping push-rod V8 any day of the week. This video was shot down at Australia’s Bathurst Raceway as part of their Touring Car Masters road race. Vintage Chevrolet Camaro’s, Holdens, Ford Mustang’s can be seen doing battle in what some would consider the best kind of racing out there. This was no exhibition race either, as all of the drivers were wringing the snot out of their rides. Remember, these are 40-year old muscle cars that are clad with leaf springs out back and carburetor-ed V8′s up front, yet by the performance they’re displaying you’d never know it. Click through for the video and get ready to enjoy 15-mins of the best fender to fender vintage road racing that you’re ever likely to see.

The old adage of “do what you love and you’ll never work another day again”, is actually quite true. I mean think about that for a moment. If you’re able to take whatever it is that makes you happy and turn it into a full-on job, then in essence you’re really getting paid to enjoy yourself on a daily basis. In reality few people get to do this, however there are those who have found a way. This is Richard Pollock, owner of Mule Motorcycles in Poway, CA. He’s not only one of the most talented builders out there, but he’s living the dream by way of envisioning, creating and selling his two-wheeled visions. His bikes have an old school feel to them as Pollack grew up in Southern California around dirt tracks and scramble style motorbikes. Each one is unique and is built around the individual owners tastes. They’re beautiful, functional and at days end, all works of two-wheeled art. Click through for the video and enjoy.

The Porsche 908 was built for FIA Group 6 competition, so it was smaller, lighter and considerably less powerful than Porsche’s monstrous 917. On a technical course, with plenty of tight corners, the 908/3 seen here could easily hold its own against the 917K, especially in the hands of a driver like Brian Redman. In the video below, the 600+ horsepower 917s walk away from the 908 on the straights. The corners, on the other hand, are ruled by the 370 horsepower 908/3.

Unlike most videos, which feature cheesy soundtracks that detract from the music of the automobile, this Road & Track video lets the user enjoy the roar of the 908/3′s 3.0-liter flat-eight engine. Blow it up to full screen and crank the volume, then enjoy nine minutes of Porsche 917 hunting.

If I had to name one of the most expensive and powerful supercars you’ve probably never heard of, I’d likely choose the Zenvo ST-1. Designed to be a supercar you can still drive every day, the ST-1 boasts an 1100 horsepower V-8 and a price tag of $1.8 million. If you want one, you’d better act quickly, since only three Zenvo ST-1 50S models will be brought into the United States.

Since you’re probably tired of football by now, and about to slip into a tryptophan induced-coma from eating too much Thanksgiving turkey, enjoy the video from Jay Leno’s Garage below. It’s as close as most of us will ever come to seeing a Zenvo ST-1.

The best commercials, regardless of the product, fill you with passion and make you want to run, not walk, to buy whatever it is the company is selling. I think this commercial is for the Fiat 500 Abarth, and I think there may even be a car in it somewhere, but I’ve watched it a few dozen times and I’m still not sure. Regardless, I’d still call it the greatest car commercial ever filmed.

I know this for a fact: the wife is getting an Abarth scorpion tattoo on the back of her neck for Christmas, along with a Rosetta Stone course in Italian. Watch the video below, and you’ll add those things to your Christmas shopping list, too.

If you’re Mercedes-Benz, you don’t sell product by showing images of parked cars and crossovers. Instead, you film your products in action, at high speeds and in high resolution. For those of us on this side of the screen, it all comes out as stunning and seamless video. For the crew involved with making the video, there’s a lot more involved than you may have considered.

After watching the video below, I’d now add “pursuit vehicle driver” to my list of all-time coolest occupations. I couldn’t be the camera guy, or the boom guy, but I could certainly be the guy behind the wheel of the chase car (or the car starring in the commercial). I wonder if there’s enough steady work to make a living at it.

We brought you the making of this last week, but here’s the full version of the action-movie director’s trailer for Need For Speed: The Run, courtesy of GT Channel. I’ll give the story line a thumbs up, even if it is a bit far-fetched, and the graphics look impressive enough to keep the game interesting.

I know it’s fantasy, but if anyone ever decides to hold a cross country race with a $25 million purse, I’m pretty sure you can count both Mike and I in.

Well it’s finally over. The 2011 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational and SEMA have now been put to rest and to be honest, I’m dead tired. As you know we ran our 1969 Dodge Daytona tribute in the competition and while a bit outgunned, we still managed to do pretty damn good. We had a few issues like a broken shifter bolt and a thrown belt, but for the most part, we came through unscathed. Unfortunately though there was still the 600 + mile drive home yesterday that I had to endure and to be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to it. Running with a group of cars is one thing as you have some kind of back-up, but taking a 42 year Dodge Daytona through Death Valley on your own… well that’s another story entirely.

Now don’t get me wrong, I trust my cars as they were built right and run strong, but when you’re rolling through the desert and you don’t see another car for 45 minutes thoughts of cannibals and movies like “The Hills Have Eyes” tend to creep into your brain.

The other issue is that you simply don’t realize how good new cars are until you pilot an old one for a 1,000 miles at a clip. While the old school is and always will be cool, it doesn’t change the fact that they’re loud, only get about 10 mpg, and at days end leave you flat-out fatigued. So why then? Why the hell do we still put ourselves through this torture? I laid in bed last night at 7:15 pm (not a misprint) pondering this and the only thing I can think of is that it’s simply who we are. Yes new cars are great and yes they’re reliable, but in the end they have no character, charisma or personality.

Before I fell asleep I debated whether or not I’d actually run another pro-touring event as it always taxes me both financially and physically. The more I thought though, the more I realized that not only would I keep running them, but that I’d keep updating, racing and pushing these old sleds to the limit because lets face it… life is simply too short to drive shitty cars.

I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world, but one place I’ve never been is Norway. From what I know, the summers are short, the winters are long and the people (and the roads) are fantastic. Unfortunately, I’m not an editor for a buff book, so any travel to Norway would come on my own dime, something that’s in short supply these days.

Since we can’t show you what the Atlantic Road looks like in and Audi R8 Spyder, we’ll let Motor Trend’s technical director, Frank Markus, lead us on a brief video tour of his homeland.
