2012 Corvette ZR1 Burnout

I stumbled across this video of a 2012 Corvette ZR1 doing a little smoke show for a good cause’ – the caption under the video reads as follows:

“This footage was never used for anything commercially, but it would have been a shame to leave it buried on a hard drive.

This was a concept for a raffle of a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Centennial Edition.

We pulled this car aside for some gratuitous flogging during the 2012 Corvette photo shoot. Shot on location at Autobahn Speedway in Joliet, IL.”

Eastern European Thrill Ride

I’ve always wondered about people who are selective with their safety gear. For instance, I’ve seen countless motorcyclists riding in full leathers, but they forgo wearing a helmet. By the same token, I’ve seen guys riding with shorts and a t-shirt while their helmet costs more than their bike. Seriously what’s the logic here? Regardless, I began to wonder about this as I watch this guy slide around in an open parking lot in what looks to be one of the coolest go-karts I’ve ever seen. It’s got a fully build chassis, gigantic rear wheels and a big ole’ straight-six engine up front. There’s no question that this thing is bitchin’, however the safety gear thing still confuses me. Now skip to the 1:20 mart and tell me this doesn’t look like a shitload of fun!

Motorcycle vs. Car Drift Battle 2

Drift Battle

Take two long swing-arm sport bikes, add a couple of really good riders and a Ford Mustang drift car painted up in Police livery and you’ve just developed the recipe for one helluva short moto-movie. The following film was produced by Icon Motorsports and features riders Nick Brocha and Ernie Vigil on a wicked pair of Triumph Speed Triples. Modified to roll sideways at full tilt, these two bikes are sure to be the catalyst as the sport of drifting heads from 4-wheels to two. That is of course unless they get caught by officer Dan Brockett in his 550 horsepower Ford Mustang Cobra. Click through for the video and enjoy.

Harley-Davidson’s are definitely good at one thing…

Harley-Davidson Burnout

It’s not often that you see a big Harley-Davidson doing anything other than cruising along your local highway at 65 mph. I mean let’s face it, that’s what they’re meant to do and they’re damn good at it. That’s why I felt it so important to post up what is perhaps the raunchiest video of a Harley doing a burnout that I’ve ever seen. The process was simple – chock the front wheel, get that big back tire spinning and then run through all five gears until you hear something go “POP”!

Ladies and gentlemen, this is nothing more then pure, unadulterated awesomeness and we love every minute of it.

This guy really hates his buggy…

Rock Crawler

I always find it amazing how there are times when shear determination will override commonsense and the need for self-preservation. Take Tim Cameron for example – he’s the owner of this wickedly cool rock crawler that wouldn’t take no for an answer when it came time to climbing this hill. Upon his initial ascent Tim unfortunately broke his RCV shaft which turned his four-wheeler, into a three-wheeler. Undeterred however Tim pressed on, but instead of conquering the hill he ended up breaking both front axles and the rear drive shaft thus ending his day. There is no question that these buggies are very cool and ungodly powerful, but I can’t help but think that poor Tim’s wallet is going to hit him over the head hard when he pulls this thing apart.

Polish Hoonigans

I suppose as car enthusiasts we’ll always be intrigued by a good video as long as it incorporates all the right elements. Obviously burnouts, power-slides, dirt, jumps and obstacle courses are all things that are a must in this day and age, but what happens when you want to go above and beyond… what then? Well if you’re a couple of Polish hoonigans then you include one very special piece of equipment… a tank, a big f*ckin’ tank.

Having Fun with Ken Block

Ken Block Gymkhana

Honestly, I would love to say that I’m getting sick and tired of watching Ken Block’s videos, but the truth is they’re all really great fun. Whether he’s hooning around playing gymkhana on a closed course, rallying in WRC or simply doing some testing, Block has a way of creating the type of automotive fun that we all wish we were a part of. I’m sure the following video is nothing extraordinary to Block and his team as for them it’s just part of their daily duties. For those of us though who are stuck behind a computer all day, well… let’s just say that Block has a better job then most people.

Ken Block’s Gymkhana World Tour Highlights

Ken Block World Tour

Ken Block just recently finished up his gymkhana world tour and with it comes not only some great highlights, but loads and loads of tire smoking action. Block started his tour in Vienna, Austria, then hit-up good ole’ Los Angeles California, with his final stop happening in Melbourne Australia. Keep in mind that this tour contained not only the antics of Mr. Block, but also some of the best freestyle motorcyclists in the world. Adam Jones, Alastair Sayer, Martin Shenck and Blake “Bilko” Williams were all on hand to partake in the festivities. That meant that not only were fans treated to some of the best four-wheeled hooning around, but they also got a first-hand look at what it’s like to fly ass-over-tea-kettle on a big-bore motor-bike. There’s no doubt that Block’s tour was a phenomenal success, however now the big question is, when is the next Gymkhana video coming out?

Porsche GT3 RS Rally Porn is Ecstasy on Four Wheels

Porsche GT3 RS

There is no question that the Porsche GT3 RS is one of, if not the most impressive track beast you can purchase off the showroom floor. It comes stock with a 3.8-liter flat-six that makes 450 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque, as well as handling characteristics that have garnered praise from every motor-journalist and race car driver on the planet. In short, the Porsche GT3 RS is a staggering automobile in terms of performance and all out capability which is why so many hardcore track junkies purchase them. Autoblog recently posted this video containing 22-minutes of Porsche porn, and it was so good that I simply had to give it a plug here on Ridelust. You may think that 22-minutes is long for an internet video, but trust me on this one, it’s worth every second of your time.

Just make sure to turn up your speakers!

Faster, Harder, Stronger – Solberg Extreme Motorshow

Solberg Extreme Motor Show

I highly doubt that Ken Block knew what he started when he released his first gymkhana video back in 2008. Not only was it the first of its kind, but since then it has spawn imitators from around the globe who have also tried to ride the gymkhana wave. It used to be that the original imitators were low budget productions, but nowadays big money is being spent, and with that great videos are being shot. The following flick comes to us as a teaser to the Solberg Extreme Motor Show which is something similar in fashion to a ROC (Race of Champions) event, but on a smaller scale. The Motor Show consists of timed arena style racing featuring fully prepped WRC cars and some of the best drivers in the world. It is definitely worth a look, so make sure to click through for the video.
