Ok sure, this post about an Infant-Safety Seat recall may be a bit off the norm for us, but we here at Ridelust.com believe that everyone should get a fighting chance at one day becoming a full-fledged automotive hooligan. According to MotherProof.com, Britax Chaperone Infant-Safety Seats is recalling 17,251 units that were produced between April 11, 2009 and May 31, 2010. Apparently, the seats chest clip may in fact be too brittle, thus causing it to break when an infant is placed in the seat. If broken, the clip may also have sharp edges, thus cutting into the child as well.
The following models have been recalled:
• E9L69N9 (Moonstone)
• E9L69P2 (Red Mill)
• E9L69P3 (Savannah)
• E9L69P5 (Cowmooflage)
A kit fixing the problem will be mailed out to those owners who have registered their seats with the company by mid-November. If you own one of these seats make sure to take care of this pronto so as to keep those future tire-burners safe!
