I’d be the first to tell you that good commercials don’t necessarily mean good cars, but every single Dodge commercial I’ve seen in the past year makes me want to head on down to my Dodge dealer and buck up for a new Challenger or Charger. Take their latest ad for the Charger, which is proof positive that sometimes a car chase and a properly timed explosion are all you need to turn a chick flick into a night at the movies that can enjoyed by all. Video below.
Let’s be honest: Fast Five isn’t going to win any awards for cinematic excellence, and I’ll bet the entire script was written in a single beer-and-pizza fueled weekend. Who cares, says I, because the movie will have enough visual entertainment to get guys all over the world into theaters. No, it won’t promote any social awareness and it won’t spur dialogue on human rights. It may create a few new car guys (or car girls, to avoid being sexist), and it may inspire someone to build or restore their first car, and that’s good enough for me.
