Back in the late ’80s and early ’90s, Callaway and Lingenfelter were at war. The tuners vied to create the most psychotic Corvette possible. Turbos were employed with flagrant disregard for safety and engine stability. Horsepower broke 1,000. Top speed hit 255. It was madness. This Callaway C12 Speedster didn’t take part in the battle. It was made in 1999 and apparently dodged the draft. The blue droptop has a measly 440 horsepower and a slushbox. Still, it has tons of Callaway fiberglass, a hideous blue interior, and a little plaque with the builder’s name on it, so it’s priced at $115,000. It makes my stomach churn. What do you think? Is it worth the price?
