Cadillac Racing 2011

For the first time since their introduction both Cadillac CTS-V Coupe race cars were spied testing this past Tuesday at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Fla. Sporting their full racing colors, both the No. 8 car and No. 3 car were ripping up the track in an effort to get ready for the 2011 Sports Car Club of America World Challenge GT season. In the drivers seat of the No. 8 car was none other than Andy Pilgrim and piloting No. 3 is teammate Johnny O’Connell.

“We’re here fine-tuning the cars, validating components and vehicle dynamics, said Jim Vurpillat, Cadillac global marketing director. “It’s our first opportunity to get both cars on the track at the same time, in full race trim. Besides looking incredible on the track, the cars are performing at an exceptional level.”

Apparently both Pilgrim and O’Connell are not only stoked for the upcoming season, but piloting the CTS-V Coupe Racecar itself.

“The driving is going very well,” O’Connell said. “We’re just learning how the car responds to different changes and we’re getting a lot of track data. With two full days of testing (Feb. 22-23), we’ll have a really good idea of how we’ll perform at the first race in St. Petersburg next month.”

Make sure to stay tuned for the World Challenge GT Series as it’s slated to run from March to October.
